in RL news i got a job working a graveyard shift, which is cool because its a lot of hours but slightly uncool in that its harder than i thought it would be
#2763
one of my best friends paid for a good portion of his school while he was taking classes by working graveyard as a bellhop at a huge hotel. the downside is that it was slowly draining his sanity, lucky for him he's not afraid of quitting from jobs that suck too much

but were you working there and was your thievery your attempt to be a badass sticking it to the man

no and yes.

rap / hiphop, at least the real stuff, is the inheritor of the mantle of the working man telling it like it is that defined real old-school country music in the 70s before it got coopted by the corporate music industry. the boxes of cassette tapes my dad hauled around in his 16-wheeler truck for decades were mostly songs of men talking about how shit everything was and getting fucked over by the establishment / fucking the establishment over, and the best rap fills the same function and inspires the same feelings and expresses the same deep angers.

yes not all of it is good. you hear a lot of junk. of course there's a bunch of corporate sellout shit that is sold as the same genre and is empty garbage, but that's true of all musical genres. if you can't "get" good rap then you can't "get" the anger of the proletariat in 2016 so you probably hate all people and/or you're hopelessly bourgeois

The world breaks everyone and afterward many are strong in the broken places. But those that will not break it kills. It kills the very good and the very gentle and the very brave impartially. If you are none of these you can be sure it will kill you too but there will be no special hurry.

Is there any bleak, fatalistic rap? No deep cuts, I only listen to popular music.

i'm not a good person to ask, i'm white and bourgeois and i like it when you post lisa bgm. i don't really listen to it regularly but i can still respect good angry rap and i think it's dumb to reject it out of hand or to say it's somehow more sexist than other music.

i think you just have to embrace being fucking angry at everything and angry at being poor and getting no breaks and just wanting your fucking share of things. there's like explicitly anticapitalist rap but i don't think much of it's very good compared to just being full of rage and yelling about pointing guns at rich people and taking their shit. the best stuff is just basically a lot of fuck you. speaking of which, i like this song, bert and ernie are my favourite rappers

humour me, tuppins. what might constitute, for you, a good hip hop or rap track? what kind of music/beats would it sample? what would the lyrics be about? *gets note pad and pen ready*

whats your favourite slayer albums conec. heres my order.

1. reign in blood
2. haunting the chapel
3. hell awaits
4. show no mercy
5. south of heaven

90s onwards i dont care about. all thier 80s stuff is top tier aside from south of heaven which is a definite step down in my mind (while still being p. good)

reign in blood is the only slayer album that i like in its entirety. not to say i don`t like show no mercy or hell awaits but reign in blood is my fave. i can`t remember if i asked u this already i probably did but do u like kreator

yah kreators so good. my fav 80s thrash is slayer, kreator, voivod, razor.
