Well, we have to end apartheid for one. And slow down the nuclear arms race, stop terrorism and world hunger. We have to provide food and shelter for the homeless, and oppose racial discrimination and promote civil rights, while also promoting equal rights for women. We have to encourage a return to traditional moral values. Most importantly, we have to promote general social concern and less materialism in young people.
-extract from J. V. Stalin's speech to the 19th Congress of the Russian Communist Party (Bolsheviks), 1952.

a famine that killed 7 million people in the US would probably have been noticed at the time. some dumb ass russian pseudo academic doing redarted projections of population statistics in the 1930s and then handwaving about "missing people" doesn't prove anything. however, when bobby conquest and the other guy use the exact same methodology to reveal holodomors etc whell THAT'S DIFFERENT

actually, the dust bowl killed 7 million people

#52
See, the Dust Bowl starvations didnt happen, because if they had they would have been recorded as such in The Official Annals of Capitalism, because America is a free, open, and honest society, unlike the USSR, which was a bad country, and, also, genocidal

the only 'bowls' that killed millions are marijuana

Turing Pharmaceuticals CEO Martin Shkreli defended raising the price of Daraprim from $13.50 to $750, even though it is used to treat vulnerable groups like AIDS and cancer patients.

“I’m not affected by the anger,” he told the Guardian. “I don’t think much about the wider world. I work with my patients.”
#56
now he claims he's gonna give it out for free to anyone who can't afford it AND plough all the extra revenue from the price hike right back into researching methods to improve the drug. damage control lol
#57
also apparently this shit happens all the time, venture firms will buy either the rights to market or manufacture out-of-patent drugs with a really small market base and make a short term killing off a price hike. this guy just happened to do it really egregiously and be very unphotogenic, also to be descended from literal gangsters lol

If you read that guy's full history, the first company he founded was a hedge fund. He would short sell and then go around badmouthing the stock he was short selling, even lobbying the FDA to deny applications from the companies he was short-selling, for which he was investigated. Then he went bankrupt anyway but he'd also founded a pharmaceutical company. So he took the pharm company public in order to pay off the hedge fund investors with stock from the pharma. He was fired from his own company for doing that and also is currently being sued over it. This pharma is the third company he's founded, now jacking up pill prices by 5000%.

He is worth tens of millions of dollars.

some questions i got for the anti-revisionist crowd (in good faith, please dont send me to ifap)

was there a change in the nature of the soviet union between stalin and Khrushchev etc? like, did it stop being a worker's state? did the bureaucracy become a new class?

did the soviet union become an imperial power? if not what was the nature of the 56 hungarian and 68 czech interventions?
#66
didn't the hungarian revolution have a pretty explicitly an anti-semitic character?
#67
what if the dust bowl actually killed... 7 billion people?
