ross wolfe retweeted because hes an ex-platypus hack who has nothing better to do than proclaim himself a soviet expert while simultaneously arguing that stalin passed legislation. theres a lot of these types of ultras around and they justify all of their behavior as anti-tank politics, whatever the fuck that is

Familiar with all that--just an odd twist to express "anti-tank" politics by saying that you have no problem with the REAL tankies, just the tankies who don't actually have any divisions at their disposal...

Sam is just mad that he didn't get the coveted Littlest Defender award from the FBI he's been workin so hard on, and it went to loudmouth reds who loudly intervene on the side of radical antiracism and out-and-out communism in the midst of Nazi slave empire gibberish, instead, somehow helping (?) the people who would easily rather see them dead (???)

sam, however, is a much more valuable contender, he doesn't have to bother fearing for his life or even so much as a career wrecked by capitalists. he makes ppl who watch Home Bourgeois Office rape shows think about "communism" in between masturbating furiously to child execution and tits or whatever

uh seeing as this is rapidly turning into the More Like The Cryzzone, i think it's v cool that two people i know from the internet prevented the racist courts system from allowing a mass lyncher to escape from his crimes, and also that you forced the liberal media to print the words 'as a communist it is my solemn duty and obligation to hate and fight racism with every inch of my being', and my little jibe about helping the fbi was built on what i thought to be a shared common assumption of this position. shalom, and glory to the legacy of comrade stalin

thanks sam. i know if you hang out with us too much longer you'll turn into a pumpkin, but if there's any other jokes you want to explain before you go that would be great.

As the grand original of all tankies said:

Do you know what I admire most in the world? It is the total inability of force to organize anything. There are only two powers in the world-the sword and the spirit. By the spirit I understand the civil and religious institutions….in the long run, the sword is always beaten by the spirit.

Or why Stalin was so interested, if sadly to such a great extant ineffectually so, in the question of building up democratic systems outside of the party, in encouraging a socialist legal theory that went beyond lazy assumptions that law was simply going to wither away like everything else was supposed to, in building up loyalty to the central state through the building up of the national cultural institutions of both the Russian and non-Russian peoples, and in dismissing ex cathedra the vulgar materialist propositions that language is simply an epiphenomena of class war, and that superstructure is merely a reflection of the base:

The superstructure is a product of the base, but this by no means implies that it merely reflects the base, that it is passive, neutral, indifferent to the fate of its base, to the fate of the classes, to the character of the system. On the contrary, having come into being, it becomes an exceedingly active force, actively assisting its base to take shape and consolidate itself, and doing its utmost to help the new system to finish off and eliminate the old base and the old classes.

At the heart of liberalism is a secret, disavowed belief that force, at the end of the day, is the only reality worth counting on. By contrast, within the depths of despotism lies the thinly veiled knowledge that neither power or authority are anything to be grasped at.

Hey Redmaistre, I recently used Pashukanis to talk about the 1948 North Korean constitution, but I know nothing about Marxist and/or Soviet legal theory. I also used J.J. Lecercle to talk about the linguistic aspects of constitutional law. Also know little about linguistics. So your post is pretty cool. Is there anybody I should read? Constitutional law is what I'm focusing on but anything would be sweet. Only other dude I know is that Sci Fi author in the SWP and I think I'll pass. Or if you just have any ideas I can talk about my research without getting arrested.

I am probably even more of an amateur vis-a-vis this material than you, I am afraid. Its difficult enough to find decent stuff in English about the formation and effects of the Napoleonic Code, its even more difficult to do so with Soviet Law, given the amount of partisan passions in the Saxon lands that still surround it.

Lecercle sounds interesting though.

#263
stalin's linguistics are interesting in that they often mirror the mystic materialism in adorno's 'theses on the language of philosophers'. the idea that language is an epiphenomenon of class war if i think unfairly tained as 'vulgar' - see, for instance, the accent theory of voloshinov (who may or many not have been the same person as bakhtin) - the sign contains the possibility of an almost infinite heterogeneity, but its determinate signified(s) is formed according to the materiality of class antagonism

I think an interesting contradiction within liberal legal theory is that John Locke devotes an entire chapter of his Second Treatise on Government on precisely when the Democratic process should be subverted in name of the "Public Good," Which basically amounts to the Executive assuming dictatorial authority to maintain private property relations. Obviously, this doesn't directly have to do with a Communist constitutional law but questions of the Executive assuming a perogative over different branches of government are not unique to liberal democracy. Aside from that this chapter reads like a foreshadow to liberalism's complete submission to Capitalism

his book is p good imo. talks about soviet legal theory a bit but i dont have the background to follow 100% and has a critique of CRT.

i was downtown today and an older black man was strolling down the street and saying to no one in particular, "You can take the flag down but it don't change how people feel."

which i thought was a pretty solid point.

then i noticed he was also literally carrying a watermelon in one hand and when he saw some scattered pennies on the street he looked at the hispanic valet dudes and said "what are we so rich now we're throwing away money?" and started picking them up one by one. just another day in racist america.
