well i just emailed a psychoanalyst and for some reason i included an autobiography rather than calling like a normal person but hey whatever works.

i have legit medical brain problems at some level so going to the doctor helped a good bit. like i had painful anxiety and the pills stop that quite a bit so i'm not going to badmouth them at all. but they deal with people who were like raped by their uncle every day for a year and then burned their tits with an iron or something so when i show up and am like "i'm directionless sigh" they are like CHEER UP EMO KID and then say "maybe you'll regain some limited functionality" and point me out the door. so paying for psychoanalysis is probably worth it.

Last time I told my therapist one of my tragic romantic misadventures, by the end of the session he was almost in tears laughing. It made me feel better

if i live long enough i will build a beautiful zen school in a semi-rural area and my students will tend vegetable gardens and sit down with me and stare at walls until we die or think of something better to do (hint: there probably wont be)

No. Suicidal gestures/ideation/attempts are auto PDQs. Sometimes they'll try to work with someone if they're already in but at the recruitment stage they won't even bother (even if it was years ago and its not a problem anymore and they have 2 major wars going on)

urgh adulthood also involves work and responsibility that goes well beyond being a student; I have to stop posting until mid-October. I started this morning with only two cases that needed to be finished up within the month. An hour in, another one came by. Then another one. Then another two. Now I am posting from under my desk, which is buried under an avalanche of legal materials. If you see me posting before mid-October then be sure to call me an idiot.

Well, the issues of identity and purpose are pretty rough, but bars and sex are great at least.

I work part time for a realty agency while I'm finishing out a master's degree in a fucking social science, so I don't think I'm even handling adulthood other than being married or something. I really don't have any career aspirations and I'm sure it's because I care more about being happy and I'm sure that stems from trauma during childhood but whatever. I'd rather keep myself well-weeded and intellectually curious and just continue without actually buckling down and committing to anything difficult I guess
#73
i'm living in a house with three other people at a treatment program/independent living type thing. i'm planning to go back to school and get a part time job while i'm here so i can move back home to the bay area and live in an apartment within the next year

it's going ok so far

I'm finding it virtually impossible to work for other people, because they are idiots and I the lone smart one, who should be boss at all times and of all things. At the same time, are there any people even worthy of carrying out my divine will? Adulthood turns out to be a lonely place.
