there was a time when 'cool' and 'revolutionary' were synonymous or at least the former was potentially exploitable. but no one seriously thinks that could last, Obama is probably the death knell of genuine care about injustice and revolutionary seriousness about life being 'cool'. of course playing video games and watching anime instead of doing stuff is still lame but how can isolated, petit-bourgeois leftists in america compete for 'cool' with a billion dollar entertainment industry that promotes John Stewart as the left limit of cool, shirtless obama and michelle giving out movie awards as the middle, and hashtag bomb ISIS and funny pics of putin on leddit as the right?
