i don't think of getfiscal as being a set of legendary posts. i think of him as a steady beat that constantly reassures, entertains and uplifts. his simple, everyday posting is truly his greatest work. while it's true that future generations might benefit from an archive of his most extensive writings, especially his satire, they won't reflect the je ne sais quo of the regular getfiscal experience. it also seems a little premature, and perhaps anxiety-inducing, for us to collect them, like we're eulogizing him. he is still with us, still producing excellent content for the people on a daily basis.

the only person who really knows what the best getfiscal posts are is getfiscal himself, and i trust him to personally archive his favorite material, whether he chooses to share it or not.

if i promise to write a book one day will you not do this. i don't really think it's a good idea. i thought maybe if i took zero responsibility over it it would be fine. but it's impossible to take zero responsibility over it and i'd have to edit it and that would be weird because i don't think it's a good idea. oh well.
