i think i'm going to try to joke around on the internet slightly less and get more serious about learning about socialist planning. it seems like an area i could make a positive contribution. i don't mean in trolling baby huey or like arguing against noobs who compare presidential terms for economic performance or something. like actually get into the nitty gritty, know what i'm saying!!!!

i don't understand how parecon works. years ago i wrote my senior thesis on it, too. maybe i understood it back then. now i have no idea. albert says that the means of production are mostly irrelevant because they are owned by everyone. but works councils still vote on investment decisions and such and then presumably reap some of the benefits of those investments. albert calls himself a market abolitionist but the entire model rests on complex iterative bidding.

ill have to reread parecon to be honest i was really young but ill get on that and get back to you maybe make an effortpost or something

i thought the idea was that markets normally aren't mediated by society at all so there's the attempt to introduce the social where normally anti-social is the norm

im not sure about his thoughts on the means of production

perhaps i think of parecon more as a socialist model, because it isn't marxist or communist in the strict sense; albert is obsessed with 'decision making in accordance with how much it affects your life"

for me parecon is worth investigating because of its potential for asking questions that are easy to understand, and that force people to rethink economics, something that the way we teach economics is very much against.

I'm Stackenblocken. i first started reading fyad when i was about 12. by 14 i got really obsessed with the concept of “irony” and tried to channel it constantly, until my thought process got really bizarre and i would repeat things like “nigger balls” and “i love shitting inside nigger assholes” in my head for hours, and i would get really paranoid, start seeing things in the corners of my eyes etc, basically prodromal schizophrenia. im now on antipsychotics. i always wondered what the kind of “ironic” style of fyad humor was all about; i think it’s the unconscious leaking in to the conscious, what jungian theory considered to be the cause of schizophrenic and schizotypal syptoms. i would advise all people who “get” fyad to be careful because that likely means you have a predisposition to a mental illness. peace.

If I were in that classroom you 'borrowed' (stole) from taxpayers on that I day, I would have stood up and started talking about Austrian economics and the impossibility of socialist planning and by the end everyone in the room would be against socialism. Then a member of the Pinochet Society would walk in and welcome me into the Order of the Great Condor for my valor in defending liberty from totalitarianism. All in all a pretty good day.

eripsa is just a dumbshit grad student with an internet presence. as far as i can tell "cybernetics" as a field of study has sort of fractured into smaller subdisciplines that mostly got absorbed by other disciplines. there is the more current trend of "complex systems" but that has less of a "control" perspective and is much less coherent than cybernetics was, and the people involved are more likely to take someone like eripsa seriously because half of them are people looking for "newton's laws" of human interaction and the other half are physicists and mathematicians who are all extremely enthusiastic to explain what they are doing to people who dont have stem degrees.
