i can only really speak for my region, others can clarify the issue for their regions. in ontario, many families buy expensive boxes to house the corpse. sometimes they pay to prepare the corpse such that it will appear healthy during a ceremony where the corpse is presented to an audience. they might dig a hole and place the box in it, reserving a piece of land, usually within a field reserved for this tradition. other people opt to have their body incinerated, with various things happening to the ashes. in ontario, medical professionals are not allowed to harvest organs from the corpse without consent, which costs many lives.

my question is whether there should be a general policy for corpses enacted through a socialist state. for example, the bodies could always be harvested for organs, with the remnants of the corpse being processed for other uses. it could be against the law for someone to bury the corpse in a box or set fire to it. should it be illegal to use the dead body as a prop during a ceremony marking the death of the individual?

a body does not belong to the brain that controls it once the brain dies it relinquishes any sov·er·eign·ty it had over that body

the body becomes property of Earth again, this is why they were typically buried

seeing as Earth cant Do Shit we should just take the organs and do whatever with the rest

the state ought to encourage a delusion in the sacredness of bodies in order to combat the erosion of values by totalizing late capitalism

This thread reminds me in 7th grade when i wrote a "persuasive argument" essay about how the Arlington National Cemetery should be dug up and covered with housing. Probably the most legit thing i wrote all my life
