i'd be happy to give up using 'gay' as a pejorative in return for being able to reclaim the word queer to describe things that odd or unusual

anti-patriarchal thought leads to anti-capitalist thought really easily because it's a clear parallel, a form of social organization leading to acceptable silent oppression, and women are actually willing to discuss feminism and patriarchy out loud in numbers, so even if some people overuse the term patriarchy and go hog wild blaming everything on it in a blanket sense, it's probably more often right than wrong, and learning a sense of social criticism/skepticism in that way is so much more important than being perfectly theoretically correct. people refine their ideas of what the causes of problems are, over time.

yeah, marx "uncritically appropriated the conceptions of political economy formulated by bourgeois economists"

uhhhh, why is it everyone in academia who criticizes marx seems to have never actually read capital

yeah, and there's a clear parallel problem where in socialist economic discussions capitalism as direct cause masks proximal causes as protosocialists grasp at what it means to be a socialist

i agree but you gotta start somewhere

Sorry Gyrofry, I will try to rise to the professional standards of this Message Board.

Rosewierd didn't you say in the other thread that butler disputes the validity of the concept of patriarchy?
