1st off, why even say i go to a community college? what were u implying? don`t front.. 2ndly "nonchallenging rubrics" u were craftily belittling me broe why act like u weren`t

someone else said it once (swampman? someone? dunno) and god knows i haven't paid enough attention to this thread to factcheck. most rubrics in most community college classes aren't challenging, and shouldn't be. the hallmarks of a wellconstructed community college class syllabus are usually accessibility and structured clarity, which ought to (and in the case of good teachers, tend to) spill over to rubrics for assignments as well. that has nothing to do with whether the course itself is going to challenge its students, it's just a common theme of presentation and that's all good stuff for an educator to concern themselves with. i don't have your personal hangups about community college (or any thoughts on the worth of private college, either).

i was in high school but had to do some credit thing at a community college because someone fucked up at the office and i remember on the first test one of the questions was "what country borders the us. to the north?" and people were complaining how hard the class was. i stopped going after that

that rules i guess, but I know some people who teach at community colleges, and it doesn't have to be like that at all

i want my fey and lubricated ass to never lose touch with average human beings, getting violently fingered on the reg

honestly, i work with mindbogglingly stupid people in a severely blighted community for very very little remuneration, and their bad decisions are compounded by the iniquities wrought on them by malicious outsiders, but i'll gladly take these ignoramuses over most of the little shits i know in academia, though they'd switch places in a second given the chance.

i don't brook the "it's not their fault" excuse because it all leads back to people, you can excuse any heinous behavior that way

i dont see how being dumb is a heinous behaviour?

I can't really talk about this in detail without giving away personal stuff, but what (very little) I do these days involves a certain degree of interaction with the people and institutions profiting from a community that's in bad shape. I'm not assigning any abstract or historicized blame, but rather talking about present conditions. this community is actively excluded from the state educational system, and in the wake of that saying "these retards can't even move in institutional channels to fight their financial exploitation" is useless.

and it's true, watching people do this on an individual level for things like mental illness, criminal mischief, etc., can be extremely fucking annoying, but if you habitually find yourself to getting pissed off at the socially unhealthy then you're one step away from
which, i mean, if that works for you then hit me up. i'll see you at the klavern

what is that community doing to fight their exclusion from the...fuck it.

there's like people who set themselves up as activists or "community leaders" (loose translation) but it's mostly in imitation of the institutions and ngo's that surround them. it's usually transparently for personal gain, sort of like a cargo cult activism that could actually work for its perpetrator but not the community at large . . . mostly they just drink.

well, they're separated by circumstance and a whole lot of continual institutional effort. i'm not about to get mad at some dude working a grift on whitey in order to get a nicer trailer, but there's institution-affiliated shitheads simpering and posing as wellmeaning administrators in order to get money, press, and parliamentary positions, and I for one would love to see them eating a bunch of bullets in a ditch somewhere.

#789
and i'm not an advocate or anything, I literally work with members of the community (and occasionally the profiteers leeching off them), not social worker "work with." someone more wellmeaning than myself would do that, I just like a quiet dumb life for now

i know some real fucking tards but every single one of them is capable of certain feats of cognition which i would never be able to match. "repeating a stale injoke at an opportune moment and making your friends laugh" is a really complex task that ought to require careful observation and subtle calculation but even the unwashed dullards manage it on the whole
