The privacy and surveillance narrative in the over the past decade has gradually escalated, from "this could become possible under new legislation" to "there are programs in place which might be doing this," culminating in recent examples such as the above in which we conclusively know that a middle aged analyst with good benefits is being paid to drink tea as they calmly document how frequently you get naked over the internet.

I almost wrote more here attempting to discuss whether this could serve as a tipping point in which discursive avoidance tactics dissolve and the population is forced to actually confront the reality of the intrusive surveillance state, but then I remembered that we reconciled with that long ago and everyone is socially invested in just pretending to care instead of actually defending human dignity. So instead I'm going to listen to Judas Priest.
