Let's take two people, B and C, with different utility functions. B gains 1 utility for each unit of income and 0.1 utility for each unit of leisure (aka, not working). C is the opposite. Both have the option of working for 2 time units for 1 income/unit.

Because B has a higher preference for income than leisure, B works for income and gains 2 utility and 2 income units. Because C has a higher preference for leisure, C doesn't work, and gains 2 utility and 0 income units, for 4 total utility.

Now let's assume a government transfer takes money from B to give to C. Now each has 1 income unit. As a result, B has 1 utility and C has 2.1 utility (or a little bit extra to account for "diminishing marginal utility" or whatever). After the government transfer, total utility is 3 and is more unequal than it was before.

Therefore your argument for liberalism would not apply in this case, right?

im not panopticon, but im permabanned poster niggerstomper58. i first started reading fyad when i was about 12. by 14 i got really obsessed with the concept of "irony" and tried to channel it constantly, until my thought process got really bizarre and i would repeat things like "nigger balls" and "i love shitting inside nigger assholes" in my head for hours, and i would get really paranoid, start seeing things in the corners of my eyes etc, basically prodromal schizophrenia. im now on antipsychotics. i always wondered what the kind of "ironic" style of fyad humor was all about; i think it's the unconscious leaking in to the conscious, what jungian theory considered to be the cause of schizophrenic and schizotypal syptoms. i would advise all people who "get" fyad to be careful because that likely means you have a predisposition to a mental illness. peace.

I really wish I could hijack Crow's account or something start posting Thomas Sowell videos.

i dont think people gain utility from income per se, but from what they buy with the income. you need leisure time to enjoy what you buy, therefore forced unemployment through government redistribution is pareto optimal

you need leisure time to enjoy what you buy,

Its just an example pan, assume they have whatever leisure time they need to use what they buy.

therefore forced unemployment through government redistribution is pareto optimal

Well okay.

Try to relate it to wizardchan's core issues. I have actually seen quite a few leftists on r9k.
