i watched an episode on pbs with my grandparents and it was just too quaintly anglo for me to handle. i feel like the experience of external media is, to them, merely background noise to the drama that is their senescence and decay, which readily explains why they'll willingly watch anything.

street meth is dextromethamphetamine, its not A Bunch or analog of anything. It is itself a pharmaceutical drug and "medical" stimulant (brand name desoxyn), and is pretty goddamned similar to regular amphetamine ie dexedrine adderall aside from duration and being slightly more serotonergic/slightly less andrenic. etc. Methylphenidate is closer functionally to cocaine, both reuptake inhibitors versus (meth)amphetamine being a releasing agent.(mechanisms whereby these drugs increase extracellular concentrations of the neurotrasnmitters responsible for their effects)
