scotch is basically distilled beer, so if you know how to mash grain there's lots of recipes online for different kinds of whiskey

making a still is more work, but a basic design and a little tinkering will get you some high-quality booze

homedistiller.org and their associated forums have an insane amount of information and lots of active posters. they are filled with dronoid redneck weirdos but they're making good shine and know how to do beautiful metalwork vv

home distilling is great, especially when you're friends with a professional chemist who can build a fractional distilling column for you instead of having to figure that shit out for yourself. I have an opening on top of my still that the alcohol vapour passes by, plug it with wax if you want straight moonshine or plug in a fruit to add a bit of subtle aroma to your 'shine. granny smith apples are my favorite.

The anchor of the development process is a sensory workshop where input is invited from a tasting panel composed of people with expertise in the beverage

How does one select for expertise in guzzling high fructose corn syrup. Morbid obesity? Do they trawl hospitals for patients with acute diabetic ketoacidosis?

i usually prefer a nero d'avola or syrah or sometimes a tempranillo but i'm not sure what 'middle of the list' means is that like a thing you do when you go into fancy restaurants because you enjoy being serviced by people wearing aprons and don't know your wine well enough to figure out what to drink at the wine store and instead need a short curated list. 'yeah man just gimme all the best shits you got wait shit the best shit is like $125 a bottle ok you know what igmme that midrange shit we blew all our money on coke, hey did i tell you i'm a respected writer? i'm published on the internet'

a restaurant doesn't need to be 'fancy' to have a wine list. pubs and bars have wine lists. what the fuck are you talking about roseweird

Initial response to the just-released Riedel glass for Coca-Cola among many food and wine writers has been cynical. But if you consider the historical perspective, the business motivations for each brand, and the potential for new market exposure, the new partnership appears more savvy than suspicious.

“This is a chance for us to talk to a different age group and different customers,” said Georg Riedel, tenth-generation owner of the glass manufacturer based in Kufstein, Austria, during a phone interview this morning. “We will be loyal and attached to the wine industry, and we will keep those relations. But don’t forget that there is a world who is not allowed to drink alcoholic beverages, and this is a chance to engage them.”

this is a chance for us to sell low-range aspirational glassware to children

i wish someone would design a beer bottle with a nice pre-scored jagged edge in order to avoid those embarrassing situations where you go to make yourself a makeshift weapon and the bottle either doesnt break on the first hit or just shatters completely

try scoring an ovoid cut around the base prior to breaking it, using a knife or diamond ring

alternatively take up an oriental martial art and learn to overcome the base passions that lead you into bar fights

what kind of fucking IDIOT buys wine from the middle of the list. top or bottom, fucktard

i know rich people do cocaine but it seems low class to me. it's like for low level rich in my mind, new money and people confused by wealth. very middle class. when i'm independently wealthy i'll probably be addicted to painkillers and such but i can't see myself rolling around with hookers and cocaine. distasteful.
