the only time i ever remember posting in the old depression chat thread was to tell people who were suicidally depressed to quit the thread, LF, SA and pretty much all forums if they wanted to improve

i would include twitter and facebook and blogs etc. and reading comments sections too but discipline you are also a writer so it makes sense to be on those things and your twitter is pretty good and also you arent suicidal are you?

also i mainly said that because lot of the people on that thread clearly didnt have things to take up their time other than their condition and that seems to be the opposite case w/ you

i have lf/fyad people who have graduated to my facebook feed and while it's not as bad as wddp there's so much self-sabotage and misplaced anger and i wonder how much it's tied in with modern leftist ideology....so myopic and internalized

yeah it just seems like a likely necessary not sufficient condition for a treatment plan for depression from my meager knowledge as someone who used to work getting indigent people mental health care. the research is still young but almost all of it is completely in support of how passive use of social media is a source of emotional stress in almost everyone who does it and that was my guess like five years ago when i posted in that thread

nope, mongolia guy was newt, who was a different person altogether. as of like two years ago when i stopped posting he was teaching a class in indonesia and was very happy but had to stop posting because the government there blocked the site lol

i'm inclined to agree with postposting that it's a reaction to late capitalist society, at the same time it seems that the numbers of those afflicted by these disorders are ballooning in size and that a lot of this is a pathologization of normal human emotion being pushed by capitalist interests.

roseweird im pretty sure the rise is measured in recent years because the only sensible data would come from the period of time when there was a diagnosis and a lot of people out there to give it. my opinion is that incidence isnt on the rise at all but people are only recently beginning to realize that social stigma is on a slow decline and diagnoses are the way to extort help from the state and employers, again, speaking as someone who used to do that for a living
