anyway gyrofry i do not actually consider myself a priestess for goodness sake that was just a jab at my own unwarranted ideal self-image but i mean i do admire priestesses in history as well as women who perform those roles as best they can today, and if you are genuinely ignorant of the historical reality of priestesses i can provide you with a considerable list of named historical figures beginning from 3000 bc as well as religious institutions served by unnamed women up until around the 5th century of the christian era, some having given us their own attested writing in extensive theological detail, others being attested as founders of traditions carried on and written down by their male students, plus i could point you more vaguely toward some resources about 'priestesses' (or something like such, under so many native names) written about by imperial chroniclers as culture heroes and leaders of anticolonial uprisings, against rome, against the christian kingdoms, against jerusalem, against the sultanates and the chinese empires, etc up thru victorian times and up to today ... i mean my point is it would be silly to name just one, it's like asking "name one king in all of history"

I would be sad if you stopped posting here, I think the dissonance that your sincerity causes in this insular community is one of the few things giving it a vestige of life. But you should do what is healthy for you.

yeah i mean i don't think you've got the meaning of lierally down quite right but yes the truth is i spend most of my time on my computer reading lots of old texts that tbh are easier to read on computer than at the library, old classics and archaeology and biblical studies stuff like that, i've neglected modern history and philosophy so far ive mostly barely made it past the 2nd century bc tho i keep trying to work up to it thru late antiquity and then the middle ages but it takes time, and other than all that i just see a friend maybe once or twice per week, plus my roommates who are pretty cool, but i've let myself get into pretty unhealthy lonely habits and worst of all since finding this place in the middle of reading nowadays i just open a tab and check it out and find something to be cranky about bc mainly i come here to start drama which is rude but it sort of serves an emotional need in my life. as for holidays what holidays should i celebrate ? i've shared too much about my family here and anyone who remembers what i've said will understand why i don't celebrate holidays w them, still i used to try but this year i gave up and i didn't go see them. i mean i did thanksgiving with some friends and sometimes i get invited to eids but otherwise holidays just make me depressed and anyway i'm not jewish or christian or muslim so what am i going to do celebrate wiccan holidays? don't be silly, those are dumb. i've had a bad depressing year and i didn't go see my family on the holidays no need to try to make me feel shitty about it just bc i called you out on your bad posting lately. but anyway you're right i should stop posting here as keven prophesied i've drowned you in forum drama and i just keep getting more unpleasant anyway. but i'm addicted to seeing the narcissistic words next to the little narcissistic picture and scolding everyone etc ... very bad habits. o please forgive me i offer you this post in penance

the holidays should be spent with those you love, whoever they may be. pretty much everyone celebrates the coming of the new year in some way or another, it's a great excuse to see your friends and family (or skip the family, if you want to!) and also meet new people. even if you arent religious, you may have friends who are, and celebrating alongside them can be meaningful even if you do not share their convictions.

anyway i think you may have a slight persecution complex but i dont think youve really caused any substantial damage to the forums. i, for one, think my feelings will recover, and i expect that holds true for most of the people still hanging around this place
