yeah it is! my first one is much different, and has been rejected by a lot of publishers so far. actually it was rejected by like 40 agents, accepted by one, and now rejected by 3 publishers

i get a portion of amazon's library loan fund, which is right now $500,000 per month.

the way it works is they take the total number of books loaned out in the month, and the portion of loans your book does of that number is applied to receive a portion of the $500,000.

so if they loan 500,000 books, and 50 of them are mine, i will get 50 bucks. or if they loan 500,000 books, and 499,000 of the loans are of my books, i'll get 499,000 books.

i have no idea if the economics of it are good or bad, but they've locked me into that program, meaning i can sell or distribute my book nowhere else hahaha

after reading the first few paragraphs i get the feeling that you're trying to troll people into buying a random, rubbish, self published author; however, there are hints of quality and a certain je ne sais quoi which cedes to that earlier notion and brings in the possibility that instead, after reading all of your rejection letters, you got drunk and self published a story that was in the first place only ever edited by spell check.

the act 1 intro is interesting, it's a novel romanticism of the sea. unfortunately after that you have a pathetic stereotype only ever used by nerdy boys too afraid of the ingénue to uncover reality; and, this level of effort is continued, the mother after only a short while gives up. allowing to some degree the later rape of her daughter. i understand purposeful vulgarity but at this point in the story there is no attachment and so reading on is as jolting as licking dead 9 volt batteries.

you wrote a book, congrats, it takes a lot of effort to do that. but you're not ready to write books.

read this thread and also this one. stick to writing short stories for a year or two, and if you still want to write books, print out Fuck and Destroy in double spaced size 12 times new roman font so that you can mark it up and hopefully start writing good books.

it's actually pretty good after the first chapter, i don't know why chose not to put effort into the first chapter though
