Yeah, apparently there's a bunch of elections coming up? Not sure if they're local or regional or whatever, but last week there was this shady looking teamster (who about filled every stereotype of a mafioso type teamster) outside the side gate, where we all walk in, canvasing or lobbying or whatever for certain candidates. Afterward, during break, half of the people he talked to said they had no idea who any of the candidates were and simply didn't trust the guy. I'm not a part of the union, so I don't know enough to really comment, but from what I saw, it was kind of surreal to watch the guy do his thing.

and that is about as close as it gets to solidarity where i work, except that he just forwarded my work directly to the manager without making it look like the (software-tracked) work that i did was his, so it's obvious that i did all of it and he did nothing. oh well.
