Remember that guy that was shot on a streetcar 9 times by police then his dead body was tasered?

Well those crazy toronto police are at it again! This time four different cops shot a man 15 times on a subway car! Whats going to happen next in this whacky city?

American here-- let me know when they start accidentally killing innocent bystanders with their bad aim and then charging the guy they were shooting at with their murders

The mayor smokes crack! CRACK! Thats what black people smoke!!

my favourite moment of the rob ford saga so far was when the police started openly calling out ford (while using none of their powers to do anything), doug ford went on television and was like... we've got a great relationship with the police, we love our police, but if they said something like that, well, that would be a disappointment, because then there would be problems, but we stand by our police. because ford gave police basically everything including pay raises when trying to make cuts in wages and layoffs elsewhere, it was basically his strongest constituency other than small business in suburban toronto. which is also why he hasn't been arrested even though the police filmed him buying drugs a million times and could have scooted over and asked to see what was in the duffel bag any time.

while i was in montreal the police union chief called the mayor and was like hey buddy how's about you re-up this special "work three long days, home for four" program we've had going, and if you don't we will make your life a hell. so the mayor (who was a new guy nominated into the vacuum after another left because of corruption) went immediately to the news and was like this crazy police union guy threatened me! and the police union guy didn't even back down, he was like yeah i just said it'd be in his best interest if he did this. anyway they then charged this new mayor with corruption stuff from a long time ago.

canada's police situation is messed up.

serious question: does canada even need police

they refuse to touch Rob Ford and hes like what, 90% of yalls drug crime?
#9
the other 10% was that guy Rob Ford murdered

also 25% of women in prison are aboriginal even though they are like 2% of the population.

In America we can only do about 10% Native in our prisons. I guess we COULD take some notes from our neighbors to the North after all!

Also its the law that your media has to be canadian even though thats been consistently interpreted as needing to say canada a lot in the program and do canada stereotypes, honestly i cant think of a single worse nation on earth than canada, thats not true england is woerse.
#13
yeah. and no one watches the canadian content. on the main canadian networks almost every watched show is american, and those are the networks designed to compete with the american stations. most canadian shows are unwatchable tv too or just direct spinoffs or equivalents of american shows.

at least we didn't come up with doctor who.
#14
doctor who is really good
#15
if you cant be handsome, might as well be lethal
#16
a lot of canadian content used to be good back in the 80s and early-mid 90s. idk what happened.

I've been wanting to move to Montreal for a bit. I think the lack of good french would really kill me in the job market though...as it should.
#29
it would kill you for "real" jobs mostly but there are english telemarketing gigs and shit like that you can do. there is also a government french training program where you pay like $40 and you get 20 or 30 hours of class hours a week depending on what you want and it runs in two month blocks until you know french.
#30
montreal indeed. ever wonder why don't we have any vancouver posters? too successful, each vancouverite prob has 4 jobs on avg.
#31
Haha, hilarious that's my other choice. My bro wants to go out of my town (city council decided 20 years ago that tourism would be better to support than industry), he's planning on going there and he asked me to join him. Might be going in the new year. But if that falls through Montreal is it. What's the french program called, I've given up on government webpages search functions.

hmm... British Columbia... Perhaps not.

The City of Abbotsford has apologized for spreading chicken manure over a popular gathering place for the homeless in an apparent bid to drive them out of the city.

"I am deeply sorry for our actions," city manager George Murray wrote in an email obtained by CBC News.

"As city manager, I take this situation very seriously and retain full responsibility for the manner in which we dealt with this incident."

The practice of using chicken manure to drive away the homeless came to light after local advocate James W. Breckenridge wrote a column titled "This Stinks" in the Abbotsford Today community newspaper.

According to Breckenridge, the city has waged an "ongoing war on the homeless," driving people "from spot to spot around Abbotsford like nuisance animals."

Meanwhile, the city has failed to provide a viable housing alternative to camping for the homeless, Breckenridge says.

The City of Surrey used a similar tactic in 2009 — spreading chicken manure outside a busy resource centre for the homeless — but was forced to remove it following outrage from community members.

In Abbotsford, Murray has vowed the city will remove the manure from the site and work with the community to resolve the issue.
