Student achievement has been identified as an important contributor to economic growth. This paper investigates the hypothesis that redistributive government activities have a negative effect on investment in human capital using data from international comparative student achievement tests in Mathematics and Science for up to 72 countries over the period 1980 to 2003. In fixed effects models, both the effects on student achievement of government consumption and government social expenditures are negative and seem to be robust across different model specifications. The effect of social expenditures appears to be driven by spending on pensions and active labor market policies

So, today I got into an argument with a liberal girl from my class about "rape culture".

I told her that while she is correct that nobody should rape, there will always be some scumbags who rape no matter what we do, thus, in the real world individuals need to take a realistic approach to preventing rape, just like they take responsible steps to minimize risk from other dangers every day.

I suggested to her that young women should avoid situations that greatly increase the chance of rape occurring, such as drinking heavily and seeking casual sex with strangers.

I even showed her a study that showed 70% of rapes occur while the victim was intoxicated.

Her entire fucking argument was "No, it's only mens responsibility to stop rape", "If we tell men to stop being rapists enough times, then nobody will be raped anymore"

The argument ended with her shrieking "rape apologist", and "Victim blamer!" at me so loudly that other people started giving me nasty looks, as if I was literally raping her right there and then.

What the fuck is wrong with women today /pol/?

I actually can't remember the last time I had a compelling, intellectual discussion with a woman.

Why are women who don't even identify as being feminists becoming just as nuts as real feminists?
