IT finally squealed about your internet association with undesirables, eh?

what happened really. What kind of job was it

associate attorney doing medical malpractice and premises liability defense in nyc.

i was working in a westchester office though, pretty conservative environment... the junior partner i did most of my work for I guess took it personally when I disagreed with her on the best course of action to take in a given situation. I would always acquiesce to her will as a superior but I never pretended to agree with her, I just did what she said. I think they wanted a believer.
#11
on the bright side, tomorrow i get to wake up and not worry about making my 2100 hours
#12
i actually already have another job that is going to pay me much less but free up a decent amount of time that I'd like to dedicate toward some sort of public interest thing... but I don't want to have a shitty boss.
#13
join a plaintiff-side practice
#14
you will have a "good fit" there because you will do at least some things that you wont immediately recognize as evil and might even hate yourself less

i didn't see it coming because i was hitting/exceeding billables and could write circles around some pretty dumb colleagues. Partner I worked for went to a t3 i went to a t1 but graduated in 2010 so beggars could not be choosers.

i got what i needed out of them which was courtroom experience. i could go plaintiff side but i'm not down with faked injuries which i saw a good deal of at pastjob.

new job is with college friends... have been doing side legal work for them for past couple of years for free and now they'll hook up the insurance and minimal salary as I'll have more time to spend on them.

may hang my own shingle in brooklyn.

Look on the bright side: at least you didn't get fired on Bosses Day!!
#28
I'd fire anyone who seriously used the t1 t3 comparison in a conversation.

Healthcare law/consulting is apparently booming, though. I even got offered a job in that field and I have zero experience. Maybe you could do that with your t1 skills

i have a friend irl who is completing y3 at a T1 (#38) school and talks down about t2 and t3 all the time. i was wondering how much it actually even mattered. i mean clearly if your lawschool is recognizable by name alone, that would be an asset. However, I doubt any hiring manager would say "holy shit! a #40! GET THIS MAN A BADGE"

#30
cut me some slack guy i got fired today
#31
just one person's opinion but if you manage not to shit the bed on your LSAT and gave half a fuck in college you should end up a t1.

i would say funding issues aside but the lower tier ones cost just about as much soooo

not my best day so I guess sorry for making distinctions between broad levels of educational institutions. not sarcasm
#34
We should have all non law graduates in the rhizzone flood Whittier Law School in Cali with applications. Let's rock last place bitch. 'zzone argue-gimicks in the court room. Yes your honor, but I think that you'll find the defendant's statements as not marxist, and furthermore consistently erasing class..

who cares what kind of internet connection you have? does your lexis/nexus research go seconds faster than others??

no worries, anyway have you thought about applying to new healthcare consulting/lawyer positions? It just sounds like a market that is eager to hire people, and you were already doing medical stuff.

I haven't really given it much thought but probably can't hurt to look. It'll probably look more attractive after this all sinks in. The thought of ending up in any pecking order again is stomach-turning right now.

I have the opportunity to get involved in legal/regulatory consulting with a startup dispensary in colorado that i'm very strongly considering. that's right, weedlaw.
