uc irvine is probably one of the best theory programs. they even have a ph.d entirely in Theory.

austin's a pretty cool town, if you can get there i'd recommend it. i can't speak to UT's programs wrt theory but drugs flow free and loose there

for real i would at least apply to berkeley, there are cool people there and its definitely a cool area. supposedly their programs are cool but i dont really know a ton about it, definitely worth looking at

that will put you near aerdil and that other poster apparently and vaguely near me, but every choice has its ups and downs

i'm at uc santa cruz and its fun being engulfed in a constant vortex of crazy. we also have a history of consciousness program that has Marx/Zizek stuff in it and we employ Angela Davis (which i didn't know until it was posted in this thread lol)

since you're applying to humanities departments, nobody is going to care about your math as long as you weren't scoring a 0 or something

so yeah, your GRE score more than qualifies you to apply to any of those departments. the GRE just weeds people out, it doesn't get them into school.
