Patricia Bays Haroski registered "National Boss' Day" with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1958. She was working as a secretary for State Farm Insurance Company in Deerfield, Illinois, at the time and chose October 16, which was her father's birthday. She was working for her father at the time.
Irresistible my left foot. Barely able to contain my rage, I stormed out of my office and loudly demanded that the offending personnel take back these cacao-fealties immediately. I will not participate, I proclaimed, in this capitalist fauxliday. Every day that we work without equity is Bosses' Day, I explained. Even the taskmasters are slaves in the building of the Pharaohs' pyramids, I metaphorsized.
But I was rebuffed with excuses of "I am watching my weight" and "they give me kidney stones." I had no choice but to evenly distribute the confections to all who would partake.
Next time Bosses' day rolls around, get me a bullet, not a bonbon.

you said you were thinking of going to that school on long island or something? maybe you could get a job out there. something rewarding like filing insurance forms.
