Peak copper is actually a much more important concern than any of this stuff. Copper is the only material that's both common, conductive and magnetic. When copper peaks- which is very soon- almost all electronics and electrical generators will become increasingly difficult to manufacture. I'll move my estimate back from 2045 to 2025.

Oh, you can always bullshit these things. Let's say there are a billion abandoned structures with a ton of copper each, that gives us 1GT recycling base. Of course if copper copper corrodes at 2% a year that means all global production is needed just to replace losses, but hey, it'll be fine.

I don't disagree with this and that's why I think disc 3 falls apart. Square couldn't wrap a plot around the bs mechanics and relies on gimmick battle modes in the end. lol why do you think the most powerful sword in the game was a speedrun item?
