middle class businessmen so politically unaware they don't realize they're settlers: truly defying the stereotypes of settler ideology.

this is sort of true because its hard to get mad at people living for lives similar to your own, so the idea that settlers are religious crazies makes it easier to explain the whole situation

U.S. Government Assessment of the Syrian Government’s Use of Chemical Weapons on August 21, 2013

The United States Government assesses with """"""high confidence""""" that the Syrian government carried out a chemical weapons attack in the Damascus suburbs on August 21, 2013. We further assess that the regime used a nerve agent in the attack. These all-source assessments are based on ***~~~human, signals, and geospatial intelligence as well as a significant body of open source reporting~~~***. Our classified assessments have been shared with the U.S. Congress and keyinternational partners. To protect sources and methods, we cannot publicly release all available intelligence – but what follows is an unclassified summary of the U.S. Intelligence Community’s analysis of what took place.Syrian Government Use of Chemical Weapons on August 21

A "large body" of "Independent Sources" indicates that a chemical weapons attack took place in the Damascus suburbs on August 21. In addition to ~~~U.S. intelligence information~~~, there are !!accounts from international and Syrian medical personnel; videos; witness accounts; thousands of social media reports from at least !!12!! different locations in the Damascus area; journalist accounts; and reports from """"highly credible"""" nongovernmental organizations.!!!!

A preliminary U.S. government assessment determined that 1,429,000 people were killed in the chemical weapons attack, including at least 426,000 children, though this assessment will certainly evolve upwards as we obtain more """"information.""""

We assess with "high confidence" that the Syrian government carried out the chemical weapons attack against opposition elements in the Damascus suburbs on August 21. We assess that the scenario in which the opposition executed the attack on August 21 is ~highly unlikely~. The body of information used to make this assessment includes ----intelligence---- pertaining to the regime’s preparations for this attack and its means of delivery, multiple streams of intelligence about the attack itself and its effect, our post-attack observations, and the differences between the capabilities of the regime and the opposition. Our ~~high confidence~~ assessment is the strongest position that the U.S. Intelligence Community can take short of confirmation. We will continue to seek additional information to close gaps in our understanding of what took place.

blah blah blah cont'd for 3 more pages, nothing else of interest or any sourcing

Israeli Settlers Defy Stereotype Amid Peace Talks

BARKAN, West Bank (AP) — Micha Drori is living the Israeli dream: a house, a yard, a wife and three kids. The 42-year-old businessman has found an affordable alternative to Israel's booming real estate market in a quiet community he loves, with a commute of less than half an hour to his job near Tel Aviv.

What's the catch? He's a West Bank settler.

yessss, about time israeli settlers were rebranded as chill middle class gentrifiers just trying to find authentic yet affordable housing

President Obama hit the links Saturday with comedian Larry David, the star of HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, as his weeklong vacation in Martha's Vineyard comes to a close.

The president rounded out his foursome with former U.S. trade representative Ron Kirk and businessman Glenn Hutchins, a part owner of the Boston Celtics basketball team.

Obama has spent much of his vacation golfing, including a five-hour round to kick off his stay, in which David, designer Kenneth Cole, filmmaker Peter Farrelly and restaurateur Patrick Lyons made up the foursome in front of the president, the Boston Globe reports.

Obama and the Seinfeld co-creator also crossed paths on Wednesday, at a sunset cocktail party thrown in the president's honor by cable TV mogul Brian Roberts. David discussed his new movie, set in Martha's Vineyard, The New York Times reports. Attorney General Eric Holder, National Security Adviser Susan Rice and Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett were also in attendance.

The president wraps up his vacation Sunday. He has made few public statements during his stay, although he did condemn the bloody street battles in Egypt.

Bush was smart, he quit golfing while waging war because he realized it looked ridiculous. But then again Bush was smart about a lot of things.

new season of curb where larry goes golfing with the president and the president is trying to justify war in syria to larry, but larry keeps obsessing about obama being half-black and half-white, with questions like "why its always a white mom and black dad but never black mom and white dad?" Obama loses it when larry asks why obama never "plays up" his white half. "Why not just remind people - hey - I'm white too" larry says, then obama swears at larry and maybe shoves him or something and stomps off, lighting a cigarette...

so larry finally gets convinced by cheryl and the fat manager that he has to apologize to the president, so he calls the white house to do it, but the president won't take his call and his secretary tells him obama is still REALLY angry at him.

then on election night, video leaks to worldstarhiphop of obama assaulting larry david on the golf course! some kids can be whispering commentary and when obama pushes larry the kids say "wooorld staaar." so of course this gets huge press and obama calls larry to say things like, "you know, i make people disappear every day, like they never even existed" so larry and fat manager are basically terrified and trying to figure out how to get to mexico right away, and they do so at great expense in some incredibly humiliating fashion, maybe curled naked around each other hidden under a bus toilet, but fat manager asphyxiates six hours in when they realize nobody knew to let them out on the other side of the border, now that the bus is starting to pick up passengers. its only after eleven hours that somebody hears larry's hoarse screams and he is pried from the septic tank, shit and cucarachas running across his foul old body and taken to the mexican jail hospital, where he learns that obama has been re-elected entirely thanks to the leaked video, due to overwhelming public sentiment against larry david. of course as soon as larry finally is back to normal life he checks his email and he has a billion emails because video of larry and dead fat manager being pulled from a bus toilet is on the internet with some kid saying "estrella mundial"
