So, the revolutionary zeal and topical apathy are both widely regarded by pretty much all of us as awesome. It's exactly for this reason that I am going to sponsor a contest in which posters will write a critique either comparing the two feelings or at least focusing on one but mentioning either.

the way to test this is by when in Israel ask an Arab to read u a line written in “Arabic” say at a rail line stop in Jerusalem or just about any other sign. he will “translate” it and tell u what it says in either Hebrew or English. but note u will always c that there is always either English and/or Hebrew written above or below or somewhere sharing the same space as the scribbly lines! thats how they do it!

What's the catch? He's a West Bank settler.
In contrast to the prevailing image of settlers as gun-toting religious zealots, the majority are in fact middle-of-the-road pragmatists seeking quality of life. Many shun the settler ideology and say they will uproot quietly, if needed, for the sake of peace.
The rest are "economic" settlers who take advantage of the benefits available to live a higher quality of life than they could have afforded in Israel proper. While these settlers tend to still hold hawkish political positions, they are not as hard-core over territorial compromise. Some, particularly those in and around Jerusalem, don't even realize they are settlers.
