I know nothing I posted is statistically significant. But I could probably expand the sample by including prior years and get a significant result. There are distortions in the data too, for example Catholic countries have less functional institutions and there are some random tax/oil havens. It helps to break down Europe into Mediterranean, Anglo, Central, and Nordic welfare system typologies. Central and Nordic are the only ones really worth looking at, the rest of the continent is messed up.

After removing a few outliers the correlations become a lot stronger. For example:



Guess cold weather is bad for height; limiting the sample to the colder countries gives a good R2.
Its all crap, but with my courseload, I'd go insane without it.

Actually, now that I think of it this is some pretty deep stuff.

Women's rights actually helps men more than women. By creating a more efficient mating market, it reinforces gender dimorphism in height. And part of the reason why men make more than women is that they're taller.

So the accelerationist thing to do is replace women with a race of 7 foot tall repulsive amazons so men will be forced to stop reproducing with them, not fight for employment equality and intensification of sexual economy.

i think that the austro-libertarian position on the inapplicability of empiricism to social and political science doesn't go far enough. how can anyone try to capture the purely qualitative organic will of the people through crude quantitative methods like polls and elections? only the leader knows the will of the people, because he is the embodiment of their desire and ambition.
