Upper middle class Whites are burdened by parental expectations. Regardless of their education and privilege, they seek to rebel against their parents and make it socially acceptable to be a poor bum. Childhood entitlement is also part of it, with government welfare a substitute.

This is why all indie/hipster/DIY people are white while actual poors and minorities glorify wealth, gold teeth and rap music.
