Like prostitution in Cuba fits into specific material conditions but its not driven by the interlinked phenomenon of poverty and tourism as its driven in other places. Its far more driven by the lack of dollars and the almost legitimate black market that exists in Cuba.

It was a phenomenon that existed in the former socialist bloc as well. Though obviously in a different way due to tourism.

To add depth to that tourism in Cuba is not "standard" its heavily resort driven due to the complete lack of much to do outside of the resorts except the museum of the revolution, revolution square, a market full of memorabilia, the odd average restaurant and utterly impenetrable central Havana social scene.

The rest of the Cuba is completely different but its impenetrable without a connection. And the middle class "eco tourist" destinations they have invented are just parallels of the resorts but looking at pretty forests rather than semi-improvised gorgeous houses.

That completely changes the dynamic of how sex tourism would work their. I imagine that it might go through local clubs and to some extent through hotels but they are also centers of anti-corruption crackdowns so I cant imagine their is anything super organised.

A channel where it could be possible is maybe Miami types coming in to see family. An better constructed informal trade could certainly exist around them.
