Seriously, bhpn, how could you ever type this without immediately going "haha, woops," and deleting it? I don't... I don't understand. Are you stupid? Evil? An FBI operative, carefully planting ludicrously stupid, self-destructive ideas in our midst?
you're dumb as shit

You literally do not understand why truth is preferable to untruth, and I'm dumb as shit?

yes, i dont feel like explaining to you the last 100 years of philosophy

Wow, I must have missed the part of modern philosophy where they decided "Truth? Ah, fuck it."
PS: You're an infant in addition to being a dishonest, morally reprehensible, mentally straitjacketed fuck.

i'm actually surprised by the quality of discussion. i was expecting a bunch of gibberish, but the compañeros at The Steampunk Forum at Brass Goggles know a thing or two about the history of class struggles.

Terminator 2 was on tv last night and arnie was like “it iss in yo-uh naycha too destroy yoo-urselvz” and it made me sad because that’s all we do from top to bottom, all day every day: and endless cycle of judgement, mockery, formulating distinctions, categorizing people.
Fuck the philosophers and rent-seekers, Rodney king posed the most truthful honest question of the last few decades and everyone laughed at him for it.

there are only three potential responses to human suffering:
1. ignore it. this is the sanest option, chosen instinctively by the vast majority of everyone in the first world, as even so much as noticing it carries no benefit.
2. get indignant about it. this will only bring sadness and poverty to have as about as much effect as getting indignant at the sunrise or the salinity of the sea
3. laugh at it. this option is frankly insane, but it is pleasant, and allows one to acknowledge reality without being dragged down by pointlessly swinging at the shades of its horror

"This policy is shit," is not a reason to hide or lie about the arguments in that policy's favor; dishonesty breeds distrust.

ok Goatstein thanks for the tips, i guess i just need to laugh more at suffering and perhaps I can be as happy as you.

not all untruth is dishonest. ever heard of satire? the absurd? thousands of other beautiful, untruthful things which enrich human existence here, at the upper end of the autism spectrum?

Untruth that is honest is understood to be untruth by the listener; this is obviously not what bhpn was talking about.

He probably doesn't feel like explaining the last 100 years of philosophy to you.
thuglesson (probably wears glasses irl): eful to look at it historically and how theories of intersectionality emerged out of the activist and theoretical struggles of various emancipatory movements in the 1970s and 80s. it was never really intended to be a predictive, explanatory model but rather a conceptual framework for resolving the problems of cohesion that feminism, socialism, black activism, lgbt etc. faced in the west. in other words it's more practical than theoretical and it's not really fair to judge it as such, the same way you wouldn't judge Capital by the standards of na blah blah blah
me (im wearin sunglasses): ...are you f'ing kidding me?
