socialists i meet irl dont really talk about their ideological persuasions or philosophize or care about old communist history or anything, theyre more like into you know labor issues and anti-war and shit

i dont think maggotmaster is going to turn into a sex addict somehow. he will probably still be unhappy because Capitalism but he might not want to throw himself in front of trains the whole time which is an improvement i think. i think i have a really fucked up brain because i know how awful the world is and im not close with my family and sometimes i dont even like many of my friends all that much and all my relationships have been meaningless but i'm still happy and still love my life

Capitalism doesnt give you emotional disorders bro. his problem is not a socioeconomic organizational mode. i dont expect him to become a sex addict or whatever, i dont know lik anything about him other than whati s obviously apparent, but i just want people to be happy and it concerns me when people obstinantly reject to be happy and spiral down in bad ways. its not inexorable but it requires ultimately an effort on their part to give up struggling against their own will to be happy

i don't think this is entirely true. a lot of mental disorders that exist today are specifically stigmatized because they're deleterious to the capitalistic mode of production. which is to speak nothing of the alienation which is produced by industrialism, but that's another issue entirely
