Jo C didn’t really contribute anything to the meeting. In fact, when an FE student made a contribution, instead of listening intently and trying to answer his question as best she could, she instead chose to heckle him. This was incredibly rude and inappropriate, not least because she’s a middle aged adult and the FE student is one of the youngest members of the organisation. When the same FE comrade asked for advice as to how we build in FE, he was told to “call a meeting” with no explanation as to how and with whom.

This is basically the way it works.
You don't get to join in with the more thought out discussions unless you make it through that contradiction.
It is kind of like smoking.
We'll collectivize our farmvilles or whatever terrible game people play. We can make a new USSR in the new Sim City game. Lets keep it to weekends.

yes i am sure
i have been on left for a long time and the majority of people who actually know how to do the mundane lark that needs to be done are in some way intertwined with an organisation even if they are not independent
it is ofc possible to get that outside of an organisation but you see it ridiculously rarely with the one exception being the academicy types who in turn do only have a particular place in the movement as a whole
none of the skills learned etc are that complicated and they could easily be created adhoc in the structures that would develop from a revolutionary movement but firstly that way that occurs is not spontaneous in itself and having people who already have some element of skills is useful plus the entire vanguard lark to keep entry costs into political movements low
the majority of people who do not go into it through that kind of structure tends to treat the movement as something they interact with in oddly independent which means they don't really ever get anything done no matter how much they "join in"
that is a problem and organisation in the abstract can change that even if the model for organisation though ABC parties is literally poison
The super important ones are: learning how to speak to crowds well and effecivley, learning how to run education and learning how to talk to people as a public revolutionary.
As I said they are not impossible to learn other places just an organisation gives you alot of room to do it in a specifically socialist context.
I am all for leaving an organisation later though and just taking what you need but that is radically more complicated then it seems, not least because these people become your comrades which is an awesome relationship but even more so because it is really fucking hard being independent and the pace is totally different which can make you take on shitty ideological positions about just how awesome the party is. (see swp for an example of this)

saying that its perfectly possible to contribute to the fundamental need for the euro-snack market to revolutionize itself from the outside but if it wants to triumph over the current us-centric snack market (despite its roots in the euro and even the non eurocentric conceptions of snacks) at some point people need to understand oliebollenkram are ran and always will be ran by the people who actually work in them, they are after all a functioning industry and fulfill a very particular roll in the euro-snack market as a whole even if their problems cause contradictions which engender the need for them to be completely changed
i am guessing it was either rice of bean flour if either of those are possible but it basically tasted like rice and beans but in cake form with lots of sugar
