pretty much if you know the conditions of hte protests then stay the fuck home and eat ice cream. there's nobody to blame but this certainly could've been avoided if the "pregnant protester" had valued "pregnant" over her 'protester"

she's homeless

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/cifamerica/2011/nov/25/shocking-truth-about-crackdown-occupy?fb=optOut haha i keep forgetting we put peter king the master of the muslim congressional hearing in charge of dhs

For the terrible insight to take away from news that the Department of Homeland Security coordinated a violent crackdown is that the DHS does not freelance. The DHS cannot say, on its own initiative, "we are going after these scruffy hippies". Rather, DHS is answerable up a chain of command: first, to New York Representative Peter King, head of the House homeland security subcommittee, who naturally is influenced by his fellow congressmen and women's wishes and interests. And the DHS answers directly, above King, to the president (who was conveniently in Australia at the time).

In other words, for the DHS to be on a call with mayors, the logic of its chain of command and accountability implies that congressional overseers, with the blessing of the White House, told the DHS to authorise mayors to order their police forces – pumped up with millions of dollars of hardware and training from the DHS – to make war on peaceful citizens.

But wait: why on earth would Congress advise violent militarised reactions against its own peaceful constituents? The answer is straightforward: in recent years, members of Congress have started entering the system as members of the middle class (or upper middle class) – but they are leaving DC privy to vast personal wealth, as we see from the "scandal" of presidential contender Newt Gingrich's having been paid $1.8m for a few hours' "consulting" to special interests. The inflated fees to lawmakers who turn lobbyists are common knowledge, but the notion that congressmen and women are legislating their own companies' profitsis less widely known – and if the books were to be opened, they would surely reveal corruption on a Wall Street spectrum. Indeed, we do already know that congresspeople are massively profiting from trading on non-public information they have on companies about which they are legislating – a form of insider trading that sent Martha Stewart to jail.

Since Occupy is heavily surveilled and infiltrated, it is likely that the DHS and police informers are aware, before Occupy itself is, what its emerging agenda is going to look like. If legislating away lobbyists' privileges to earn boundless fees once they are close to the legislative process, reforming the banks so they can't suck money out of fake derivatives products, and, most critically, opening the books on a system that allowed members of Congress to profit personally – and immensely – from their own legislation, are two beats away from the grasp of an electorally organised Occupy movement … well, you will call out the troops on stopping that advance.

For the first time in the history of the organization, DLA Disposition Services received 10 REVA 4×4 Armored Personnel Carriers (APC) into their inventory. The REVAs were received into DLA Disposition Services Sierra inventory and LESO was fortunate enough to receive all 10.

This Vehicle is produced by ICP South Africa. Its V-shaped hull offers protection against land mines and Improvised Explosive Devices (IED), and has space for at least 10 passengers. LESO received 34 different Letters of Intent from 12 different states. Allocation was based on counter-terrorism, counter-drug, crime data, jurisdiction, and the ability for the agency to service, operate and maintain the vehicle.

Each justification was very thorough and well written. This type of vehicle is in high demand and the allocation process was challenging. However, within 72 hours of receiving all justifications determined the most worthy customers and made their initial recommendations.

For those not awarded or those interested in this type of property, the vehicle team asks everyone to remain patience and not get discouraged. As the drawdown continues, more vehicles of this nature may become available.

Though the Bible says that rich people getting into heaven is as likely as squeezing a 1500-pound mammal through a tiny hole, it’s worth noting that the vast majority of billionaires made their fortunes from scratch.

Stopped reading here - How the fuck does the second statement negate the first? What kind of thought process is that?

Although you may presume I'm religious because I will begin my diatribe by referencing the son of God, it's worth noting that I think he is mistaken here because barf.

Surprise, surprise, Israeli tactics being adopted by riot police in these crackdowns.

“Israel is the Harvard of antiterrorism,” said former US Capitol Police Chief Terrance W. Gainer, who now serves as the US Senate Sergeant-at-Arms. Cathy Lanier, the Chief of the Washington DC Metropolitan Police, remarked, “No experience in my life has had more of an impact on doing my job than going to Israel.” “One would say it is the front line,” Barnett Jones, the police chief of Ann Arbor, Michigan, said of Israel. “We’re in a global war.”

Karen Greenberg, the director of Fordham School of Law’s Center on National Security and a leading expert on terror and civil liberties, said the Israeli influence on American law enforcement is so extensive it has bled into street-level police conduct. “After 9/11 we reached out to the Israelis on many fronts and one of those fronts was torture,” Greenberg told me. “The training in Iraq and Afghanistan on torture was Israeli training. There’s been a huge downside to taking our cue from the Israelis and now we’re going to spread that into the fabric of everyday American life? It’s counter-terrorism creep. And it’s exactly what you could have predicted would have happened.”
