well it's not like al qaeda is going to impose its policies on america. so it's acclerationism. it doesn't matter what the intent of the guys flying planes into the wtc is, it's the result. i don't think anyone gives a shit about what al qaeda actually believes

i find that an obtuse position. how is blowing up the wtc even accelerationist, it wiped out the stock market and set back capital accumulation? i mean destroying financial capital might be a justification but that's a weird tangent to go on, the political impact of 9/11 was way greater than its economic one.
i don't think it's a tenable position, i just think it's the lazy rationalization that people tell themselves. i think you're right about the "fuck you dad" thing. it's suburban schaedenfreude
which incidentally is the name of red hot chili pepper's next album

it's two reactionary forces fighting each other.but i can't just oppose them equally. i mean shits happening in afghanistan and women are getting acid raped. were the afghan socialists who want the us to withdraw actually living in afghanistan as women under the taliban? i don't think so. at the very least even if violence isn't an appropriate response to the taliban, the american backed karzai government seems slightly less bad than the islamists.
how much do you actually know about afghanistan lol. Lol. LOl

but the islamists got pissed off and rebelled in 1979 when the soviets were teaching afghan women how to read. it isn't all anti us, it's anti not being ultraorthodox muslim.
it was likely cynically used as a proxy in the civil war in the 90s, had some weird meetings with gas companies right before the invasion, and only is now so strong because of the US-backed war and its narco regime. if you (somehow) remove US occupation from the equation, sweeping the carpet from under Karzai, things would change drastically.
not necessarily. not unless someone shoots the saudis who are giving them money, or on the off chance everyone stops buying saudi oil so they don't have any funds.
what do the saudis have to do with the Taliban.
mustang19 posted:but that's pretty much how the taliban ran things, just with added religious insanity.
this is not a materialist analysis

ya the taliban is badass
