but i can't just oppose them equally. i mean shits happening in afghanistan and women are getting acid raped. were the afghan socialists who want the us to withdraw actually living in afghanistan as women under the taliban? i don't think so. at the very least even if violence isn't an appropriate response to the taliban, the american backed karzai government seems slightly less bad than the islamists.

Look man, you wouldn't have the Taliban, without US imperialism. it was likely cynically used as a proxy in the civil war in the 90s, had some weird meetings with gas companies right before the invasion, and only is now so strong because of the US-backed war and its narco regime. if you (somehow) remove US occupation from the equation, sweeping the carpet from under Karzai, things would change drastically.

the karzai government is only nominal and the rest of the country is held together by warlord fiefdoms whose allegiance to the state is held together by bribes from the us military and drones murdering babies in pakistan.
