ggw posted:I think that prostitution should be legalized because it would free men from the burden of entering into relationships/marriages just to get access to regular sex. Much like legalized abortion allowed women to engage in casual sex without having to worry about carrying a resulting fetus to term against their wishes, a man wouldn't have to marry/get into a relationship/etc just to get sex. I think this would be freeing to men in the same way that abortion is freeing to women. Do you agree?

The unfortunate fact is that no one really cares about undersexed males, and that being an undersexed male is treated as a mark of shame, especially when said undersexed male wants it so bad and can't get it. Just look at how a woman owning a dildo is a sign of empowerment whereas owning a fleshlight is seen as the epitome of loserdom. I don't know what to tell you, OP. Just don't turn out like me. 27 years old and with your same issues. Act fast before it's too late.
The wife needs to lose the weight and become the attractive person she used to be. In a marriage, there's a commitment by both partners to remain as attractive to each other as possible. Her becoming fat and unattractive is her failing to hold her part of the bargain and the OP has every right to resent this.
But how do you let go of the bitterness? I'm going to be 27 and haven't had any action, and the women my age are noticeably aging. I missed out on so much.
Is it sexist for men to not want to be in the delivery room when their wives are giving birth?
I just saw a youtube video of an actual human birth and it was gory and unappealing. Is it sexist for husbands to say that whole business is a woman's burden and they shouldn't be expected to be in the delivery room?

Would it be accurate to say you think that you could better capitalize on your talent if you had the power to? It sounds like you want to trade the value of your time for a standardized rate of exchange in a free marketplace without the risk of uncertainty that the law currently imposes. We are, naturally, risk-averse creatures. Have you had the chance to learn statistics before, OP?
It was identified earlier in the thread that prostitutes often enter the trade because they lack connections once they arrive here, sort of a social network that they can capitalize on for help, or haven’t had the exposure in their past to an equal education on their rights once they got here. I do think the OP wants to be more normal and believes in gender equality, and you have no right to stop him from processing himself and expressing his ideas. This board is notorious for its left-skewedness.
OP, it sounds like you think of the issue at hand in terms of investment and incentives. There are many others who agree with you and are afraid to express themselves so openly. Surely there’s a reason why they’re afraid; they may even feel anxiety with their fear. The issues are very often co-morbid, and can prevent them from learning why they’re afraid. I’d even go so far as to say it’s a tendency of human nature to want to regress toward the mean for social desirability and start labeling others as doubly deviant from their collective average. It sounds like you had a hard start to life, felt like there was an underlying issue, and tried to fix it by dating others.
We can only date those whom our capital purchases, whether it be social or fiscal. You don’t have to spend money to date; you do have to build social capital in order that you can spend on getting to first base. Think about your interactions with other men in your life and how you build social capital with them. You have the power to, just breathe gently and don’t worry when you try to with women. It takes habits to do so; those habits you can form, just be aware whenever you feel that anxiety saying something. Try saying that which builds capital, this feeling of trust or rapport, with women, and soon enough, your habits will have built up a fairly large bank that naturally gathers interest from its offerings.

boo hoo hoo. it's not that he can't have sex, it's that he complains about the "energy and effort" required to have a sexual partner.
oh my heart bleeds, imagine having to put some effort in

Plenty of men's first sexual experience was rape by envelopment. Rapists don't care whether their victims have committed time or energy to the pursuit of sex, or even have interest at all - that's why it's called rape. While it's somewhat less likely he will be a victim without a partner - as intimate partners are a major source of rapes - he is by no means safe.
No one is.
