Been a little weird over the past few days to see how many “leftists” on “the Left” both (a) feel it necessary to feign decisive knowledge of Marx and Lenin and (b) do not seem to have any concept at all of “reactionary elements among workers”. I guess I don’t feel too bothered about this though, because it seems to prove that the people susceptible to thinking dumb shit, like “a vaguely defined group that fash Hollywood tells me are the salt of the earth are necessarily the locus of class struggle”, are definitely booj/petit-booj tourists or diehard fascists who can’t even semi-conceal themselves, people who were not ever going to form part of any real politics, class-traitor or otherwise. They’re just tagging themselves right now.

What i find more odd personally is that a lot of people who probably should know better are doing the “we need a … of the left” shit again, as though actions that followed the model of economic and logistical disruption hadn’t been brutally, murderously disrupted over the last couple years in full view of the public. Which doesn’t mean those other, superficially similar approaches should be off the table, but, like… there’s a reason why reactionary death cultists flying literal Nazi flags and pushing Holocaust denial in their group chats are allowed to believe temporarily in their own “success” by the police state, and it’s not because their strategies or tactics are particularly useful to anyone else. You can’t really replicate the pigs letting you get away with things as a fellow oinker/useful tool as a tactic or strategy unless you become one.

2021 was the year that "tailism" as a concept finally clicked for me in a visceral, decisive way, such that i'm unlikely to ever need to look it up again

also it kinda feels like 2021 never ended (but this one's probably a personal thing)

Not only is this a classic labor aristocrat movement, but not alot of people are mentioning how this "trucker movement" is a reactionary euro-Klanadian reaction to their profession being outsourced to brown people. Not even representative of truckers in Canada at all.

"Immigrants from South Asia have accounted for a massive shift in the demographics of Canada’s truck drivers, according to research conducted by Newcom Media’s editorial teams, drawing on more than 25 years of Canada Census data. Overall, almost one in five (17.8 per cent) of Canada’s truck drivers have South Asian backgrounds.

According to the data: “In Vancouver, South Asian immigrants now account for the majority (55.9 per cent) of drivers. The share in Toronto is not far behind at 53.9 per cent.”

"Arshdeep Singh, 30, is also a trucker and a member of the Naujawan Support Network. He says truckers also deal with threats of deportation from employers, who send them out on long assignments despite rough weather conditions and lack of rest."

also worth noting - they have not stopped honking

"Walk and chew gum at the same time" comes to mind here as ever, as it's something that seems impossible for the online reactionary / cop-tool cliques known as the "post-left", the capitalist-West "patriotic left", etc.—to any extent they're not a direct pig project, anyway.

Like: the CIA attempts to weaponize liberal sectors of e.g. gay/trans politics in countries under attack by imperialism, and part of what the CIA wants is to embolden and empower reactionary elements in those countries, to make CIA efforts through reactionary groups appear as though they're chock full of "true" patriots in that country. Reactionary nationalists are akin to their liberal-NGO counterparts, in that they are pawns of, and in some cases creations of, the CIA. After all, no one who knows the facts, the documentary evidence and primary testimonies, could possibly dispute the existence of Gladio. So, coopting liberal groups to provoke that response serves the same purpose for the Fourth Reich as the Nazis did among Austrian & German reactionary groups during the Third, consolidating reactionary sentiment so that it can be harnessed and controlled. It's a double win for the CIA as it builds and maintains its inroads.

I am an old-fashioned sort of Communist, in that I think doing the CIA's work for them is bad. Like... the solution to their attempted infiltration of an element of politics isn't to abandon those politics and flee the field. It's certainly not to align, rhetorically or otherwise, with the CIA's reactionary pawns.

I sometimes wonder if these wannabe reactionary-"leftists" know anything at all about how the history here (again, to the extent they're not literal pig employees). CIA infiltrators didn't influence socialist groups in the 20th century by acting like cartoon villains. They didn't tell their targets Ehehehe, come be orcs with us and feast on human flesh. That wasn't how they attacked "the left" of that time, any more than they do it that way now.

Instead, they found people who pretended they'd read Lenin but hadn't, and said... "Well, we all know the war in Vietnam is bad, right, right, that's just a given... But... But... you watch Hollywood movies, you watch TV sitcoms, you know 'the workers' are really all shortsighted reactionary hicks [this last part gets phrased more politely, but that's the content of it]. And... this other person So-And-So, they don't seem very appealing to 'the workers', do they? They don't seem very patriotic... They seem a little ChiCom if you ask me. They're a little too into this black revolutionary stuff, this women's empowerment stuff, they're even talking nice about the gays, and you know the 'workers' won't accept that... so, I'm not saying you need to fight with them in meetings or denounce them... just keep an eye on them, try to figure out what they're doing, and we'll keep in touch. For the workers, you know." It was this very, You've got your finger on the pulse, just like me, we're the practical socialists here, sort of rhetoric.

So the target does just what's suggested. They keep an eye on So-And-So and talk with their patriotic, 'worker'-oriented comrade about what they're doing, where So-And-So is going and what they have planned, and maybe they even start repeating all that stuff about the 'workers' and 'patriots' vs. So-And-So, because they weren't told to do that, it's on their initiative. And some night, shots ring out in a certain time and place, and the state says, Who knows what happened really? and Huey P. Newton goes to prison. That's why it's a good litmus test of today's future CIA collaborators to talk about how comrades avoid anti-gay slurs, and bring up Newton in the same breath, and watch as, pro- or anti-BPP, they all assume that line on anti-gay slurs couldn't possibly have been Newton's line back then, too.

It surprises me when these "post-left", capitalist-West "patriotic socialist" people, in 2022, can't fathom that the bourgeois police state, from the CIA down to town police departments, takes public positions for deceptive reasons that don't reveal its politics. It's a simple idea necessary for understanding the world:

Cops lie. A lot.

(...please note, I'm not including among the useful idiots those simply suggesting that copying current reactionary tactics is needed or likely right now, and without the level of bourgeois-state support reactionaries receive. I think they're just reaching a bit in good faith. Though it surprises me when I see it from people who know that e.g. the summer of 2020 had a lot of actions involving knowledge of logistics, and who know what the police did to stop those actions, which was not only to attack the action, but assault the press people covering it. If a group of socialist truckers moved 3 semis onto Ambassador Bridge, the aim of the police state would be to disappear them before it became news, not leave them there for days as they've done to tend the egos of far-right cop auxiliaries. In the far right's case, by contrast, cop policy is to "let them do their thing" [direct quote!] to preserve cop ties, then move in later to mop up. I can't even imagine the swiftness & violence of cop reaction if a long line of people protesting the murder of George Floyd had marched through Minneapolis carrying bright red gasoline cans.)

yesterday: by bourgeoisie is meant the class of modern capitalists, owners of the means of social production and employers of wage labor. by proletariat, the class of modern wage laborers who, having no means of production of their own, are reduced to selling their labor power in order to live.

today: the proletariat own a truck

I live in a rural area where trucks are very much a status symbol and not actually used for work at all. Consequently I get into low speed parking lot colissions once or twice a year because I am backing my tiny shitbox out from between two jacked up F150s and no one can see me. Death to all settlers
