Might be easier to think of an effort post as a post that requires effort to read and respond to, and let me tell you, tricking me into reading 5 paragraphs that I don't agree with might actually bne a worse crime than 500 years of subjugation of the First Nations in the americas, in a way

an effort post is usually one of those really long and researched posts that everyone upvotes but doesn't actually read or at least not right away. i have a habit of bookmarking those threads and reading them 6 months later when im really bored and cleaning up folders.
