I just don’t think video game characters should have sex with one another. it doesn’t seem right. video games are children’s entertainment, for children. children don’t need to learn how to gain Affinity Points to unlock sex with their friends and the people they manage at work.

My problem with love points in video games is that I can make the main character marry the correct wizard but rarely can I encourage my virtual squire through early to intermediate stages of a fulfilling yuri romance with a local lady of butter churns. Get on that!

What is the point of a steampunk wedding if you and your high-resolution spouse can't share in the happiness of another steamcouple.

edit: sorry for being intentionally oblivious and ruinning with it in order to talk about something tangentially related because i have a slight chance of being able to enter the conversation with something i do actually know about. its awkward and a bad strategy

I appreciate the effort, it's just that I don't want to do anything I just said if the characters are children.

Two women is coming up close on being the default love story of mega-budget Western video games, because it makes dudes horny, building guy player avatars on 1980s Hollywood revisionism of men in cinema causes problems for the weepy vicarious melodrama of the medium's love stories and finally, because it makes dudes horny. My point here is that I want to hook supporting characters up with each other because the only reason I ever have the main character act out a Thunderbirds-looking soap opera is, once they started adding those love stories, the designers began to hide a bunch of the game in there, and if that's the way it's going to be, I'd rather someone write a melodramatic love scene between two characters with lines that don't change instead of one constructed on the model of me out on the lake with a fixed-spool fishing reel trying to land a cadmium-poisoned trout.

That's pretty serious and impressive, i'm surprised the creatures aren't more of a problem for a network that large. Here's my current attempt, I am doing a few tries with monsters turned way down so i can try to figure out how railroads and circuit networks work.

my next two projects are: 1. figure out how to use circuit networks well enough that when I pick up a unit from a factory, the factory replaces it and shuts down
2. figure out how to program a train to load cargo at one stop and unload at another

havent tried any mods yet..

I want to upgrade my pc when new games catch my eye but then remind myself I get bored after like 20 mins of in most of them. And that their purpose is to make me want that in the first place. And I can watch a gameplay stream for 20 mins then get bored. Current 4 yo system could run bg3 fine without the pointless new tech, romance mechanics, whatever other mechanics that most players don't care about. But everyone needs to squint at ray tracing and experience the wonder of keyboard as slot machine for triggering Starbucks waiters' motion capture sessions. The goal is motivating more people and/or devices to tell themselves your stories with shinier screen toys for longer. Good stories in this medium are short brutal and funny so avoid them. The appeal of more expensive toys for stupid 1P stories will decline sharply. Bringing shinier toys to play with others - no one is impressed, competing and interaction are the real draws. Telling each other your stories with... - gay. Telling each other each other's stories competitively and interacting = forums/social media. Celebrities telling themselves your story to audience - already exists and growing, not good for shinier toys unless they are needed for more interaction involving eg real-time modding and assets. Viewers paying to make streamers play with their likenesses, handcrafted on their own pcs with lobotomised renderer.

The future of gaming is watching 50s suburb residents repairing wealthier residents' cars so they can save up to buy their own. Gotta keep those nickel-cobalt mines up to scale.

yes but what are your opinions on changing firebolt from 5e's 1d10 to a homebrew 1d6 + 1d4 burning damage?

is the 1d6 still fire damage? why divorce fire and burning damage, complicating things? also RAW it’s a mote of fire; unless it’s on something highly flammable it should burn out too fast to do burning damage

min damage doubles and average damage goes from 5.5 to 6, and i'm assuming burning damage repeats? seems like an unneeded buff to wizards who should be doing more interesting things than cantrips, kinda getting in the warlock lane with it imo

in my d&d campaign i haven't even been writing stats for enemies or giving them real "by the book" weapons/attacks, i just roll dice audibly and say if anybody takes any damage. i just wing it and it's the best
