like online Bolshevik vs. Kronstadt cosplay, that’s understandable if pathetic given where Communists stand in relation to state power in the U.S.

parroting literal cop-press-release lines about Antifa Blackula violence gangs though, that’s straight up garbage behavior. The bourgeois state is gearing up for a massacre

invitation to kick my ass with information to the contrary: in what way is the CHAZ any different from just doing occupy again? the occupy strategy thoroughly refuted itself, it sucks away massive amounts of time and energy into the effort of maintaining a space under siege and leaves nothing left to agitate for any real demands. i'm sure it's all well intentioned and i'd genuinely love to be surprised here but, y'know. fool me once,

Willing to delete my chaz post and donate the upvotes. At the time I could only find anarchist accounts hyping CHAZ online but I wish them all best in turning an American city into Maidan Square

I think the CHAZ is goofy and won't come to anything, but the attacks against it are animated by the most reactionary venom.

Just fascist dreck machismo masquerading as analysis. lol leftists are weak and retarded lol blacks are crazy violent haha dumb commies this is what your PETS are really like dose of reality for you hippie bums.

Won't take part in this state and media backed slander of some earnest people. Joining in reveals a soul so rotted by liberalism and a desperate desire for approval from rancid hobgoblins.
#343
CHAZ is interesting as a real world demonstration of the limits of the domestic power of the empire. What exactly is being permitted here by the state? Under what conditions? Who is permitted to do this? Many interesting observations can be made. Now I think most of us agree it lacks real revolutionary potential in and of itself, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to be learned, because it's not exactly the same as Occupy, despite the obvious similarities.
#344
i think its probably important that its in seattle. somehow i imagine the situation would have played out differently in like, st louis or something

Seattle held a general strike around 100 years ago it; deflated into nothing and the national guard went in and fucked everything up.

I hear a voice that cries out, "papers, please!" And then I deliver. First up is Liberation with a new look and an article on a demonstration in Philly the party took a lot deserved pride in:

Now for the CPUSA paper. This is actually a republished AP article. I question the value in paying for an AP syndication... but I liked the tough headline here:

Following that are two solidarity statements, one from IMCWP and the next from the ICMLPO/CIPOML, a network of various anti-revisionist, Hoxhaist orgs and printed on the website of the American Party of Labor -- also part of NAARPR btw. I think their logo looks like the Cardassians from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (look at the ACAB sign in the pic).

Here's People's Daily. I think this is a lot stronger than a week ago:

I can't read this one, but it's from the weekly edition of the Japanese Communist Party's Shimbun Akahata (Newspaper Red Flag), that incorporated Black Lives Matter into the mix:

Now two excerpts from Utopia, the Chinese left-wing site. The first describes the protests as a progressive, historical link within a developing American proletarian movement. The term "sports" in the translation I think is incorrect and the context is more like "movement," so the sentence would read "the key is not that movements are full of spontaneity, but that movements contain endless power."

Another article talks about Tucker Carlson comparing the statue smashing to the Cultural Revolution. Utopia contrasts what is happening in the U.S., Britain and elsewhere with the Cultural Revolution, but concludes with lol smash that shit. It also has a nice word for (some) progressive intellectuals in the U.S. and takes a stab at those in China who call them baizuo (白左) or "white left," a term associated with the crank reactionary philosopher Liu Zhongjing. That term has spread to fascists in western countries and has similar connotations to "SJW," and I think they picked it up because they can flatter themselves into believing that Chinese people share the same views as them.

Lastly, there's a new Challenge, which is absolutely flipping out right now:

“I visited the 'new' Capitol Hill today in Seattle. Everything you are hearing on the news is lies. Everything the mayor and police chief and the president are telling you or alluding to or warning you about is false.

There are no militants surrounding the area. There is no money being demanded to enter. Business are open and selling to patrons. There is no violence. There is no destruction. Nothing is "under siege". Nothing has been "seized".

The police left the area of their own accord 3 days ago. They conceded. And just like that, peace fell up on the land. Nothing has happened to their building. No one has broken in and destroyed it. There is graffiti on the fencing they installed. It says we have reclaimed our city.

There are people in a square sharing their stories and public speaking. People are sitting down on the ground and quietly listening. In the park nearby, there are new community gardens. Children are planting vegetables and flowers.

There are first aid tents, that are no longer needed, which is good because the police aimed their attack directly at them so many nights. There are free services everywhere. There are people doing yoga, reading, talking, dancing.

There is music in the air. There is food and water all over! For free! Donated by the citizens of Seattle and local restaurants. Caribbean food plates. Snacks. Water. Free. Everywhere. For everyone.

There are no police. There is no violence. It is a glimpse into utopia. It is a glimmer of heaven. For now.

Listening to Jenny Durkan and Carmen Best on the way there, I *should* have been prepared for SUCH a different view based on their lies. It must be utterly miserable to live in their fear, to be compelled to share that fear with other people. To need other people to be scared with you. That's some validation sickness right there.

Listening KOMO news on the way home, and them talking about how their reporter is afraid of the "MOBTOWN" and was going to do his report from a rooftop so he could avoid "MOBTOWN", made me sick inside my heart.

I can't believe our local news is feeding you this garbage. But what can I expect from a news agency that is trying so hard to be relevant, they are still running videos of violence almost 2 weeks old, as their FB banner. I am embarrassed for them.

The mendacious media, and gassy blimp Trump, and anyone else who is trying to instill fear in you over this amazing transformation from the absolutely police-fueled violence a few days ago in the area, is your enemy. People that lie to you do not care about you. They are not well.

The people I was with today, in the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone should be giving CLASSES on basic empathy and compassion for others to every politician, police officer, and person of power alive today and forevermore. The world could be so much better with a little more heart.

So please. Go see for yourself. You will be amazed at the beauty that has emerged from the chaos. You will think twice about swallowing those sound bites that constantly poison the airwaves. They are lying to you. We are peaceful.

To to the media involved: You can help as we ask, support us as needed, or just get out of the way and leave us alone. Stop straight LYING for cred. It makes you ugly, and I can't trust you.

Seattle is beautiful, and we are doing just fine.

This is a photo today of your "Antifa terrorists who have taken over Seattle by force!"

one thought that comes to mind is that they are being permitted to create a COVID hotspot that is conveniently situated within a particular group of people loosely gathered around a somewhat coherent political idea, knowing full well that 1. people will get sick and die, 2. that some people will leave the camp and return to their communities, thereby punishing a perceived ideological group en masse via large-scale spreading, and 3. that some new people will join the camp, exposing themselves to the illness and (like 1 and 2) either return to their communities and infect their families or die themselves.

I'd believe this if there was any prior evidence of an amerikkkan government body showing signs of any sort of forward planning to do with covid

according to chinese studies >99% of covid transmissions occur indoors. tightly packed crowds persisting for hours at a time aren't exactly normal outdoor conditions, but I wouldn't be surprised if the protests don't result in massive infection

with the mass destruction of organized labor over numerous decades and censorship of leftist ideology this is probably going to fizzle out either through occupy 2.0 or just corporate take over. without some real leadership and structure like the BPP there's nothing to build on, just isolated thoughts and slogans. it's depressing to see so many people out in the streets who have anger towards the right injustices but haven't been introduced to the theories, books and organizations that would put it to good use.

I saw two things that made me laugh. The first thing started out ominous. Some right-wing agitators had apparently been chased out of the zone, and some Daily Caller hacks / cops shoved their cameras in the face of a masked JBGC member who was tailing them in his jeep. Then these guys tried to film his plates, but there were no plates, and one blurted out: "This one doesn't have a fuckin' license plate!"

The second thing was the mayor of Seattle touring the zone. Not my place to judge what is happening there but I thought it was funny how she was trying to absorb and redirect the anarchist lingo when a reporter asked her about her impressions. Well, you know, I think Seattle has... always been autonomous... a place for people of different walks of life to come together and aspire to greater things...
#360
the mayor of seattle said "access to opportunity" and frankly, i just think that's funny
