i posted that on facebook so i only censored the first name cause that guy used my deadname in chat lol and not everyone knows what it is anymore. that guy is a weirdo who i dont trust though ive known him since i was 15-16. old lastfm friend. hes a left-libertarian real invested in the "market anarchist" cia center for a stateless society psyop shit. the worst part is i dont really trust that hes naive about it i think hes extremely cynical and it give me paranoia feelings frequently. theres a whole story about our interconnected internet relationships as we were very close as teenagers at least. its a lot. im refraining from posting because ive been up for a long time and i am physically exhausted but not sleepy. i dont remember when i slept last actually

Ive done some very minor organizing and im astonishingly bad at it. Going to events and helping people prepare by doing manual labor, cleaning up, etc is pleasant and within the range of usef thinge i can do well enough

It took me awhile to read this post since this topic is genuinely annoying so I gave up on reading it a couple times, but it was good.

I feel like a lot of people who get into this mindset are wayward and only have really simple online social clubs to get involved in, or worse, cliques in their DSA chapter. The overflow of these types of people might be a sign that there's still a significant lack of leadership in socialist groups, with social media acting as an exponential factor. The reason I think social media brain poison is secondary is just my personal experience: I've witnessed a bunch of drunk boomers in leadership at a local music festival here, and it was stressful for many non-cliques dealing with their thought-terminating geriatric bureaucracy. One result of that geriatric bureaucracy is that we it didn't have great social media communication. Also two of the board members got into a fist fight during a show.

i've got jobs and stuff from social media so i feel weird about it. social media is bad i guess but also has benefited me a lot in a narrow way - I think! i know my life would be very very very very very very very very different without it.

graphical Union of Soviet Socialist Republics Interface, your posts are good.

ty i try lol

i dont mistype things intentionally anymore, i started typing in a looser way to make fiunny mistypings occur organically and now its my typing style which uhhh does get frustrating when youtre tryin to write regularly lol. its like the ABDLs who make themselves incontinetn on purpose and then realize how much they fucked themselves over, and thr fact that thats the analogy that comes to mind immediate;ly further demonstrates the extent of my web-induced brain damage
#60
i wish you guys pposted more, from being on here refreshing all day i can tell you check it very infrequent;ly on an individual basis. step up your game yall
#61
thats one of the things i like about rhizzone, you can digest all the content in 15-30 min/day tops so it is pointless to constantly refresh it. it is the opposite of facebook/twitter/instagram/reddit that are engineered to recycle content in a different order while peppering in new content for that quick hit of dopamine.

the format utterly fails as an attention-holding/dopamine IV drip but that style of social media consumption is ultimately less fulfilling. it is also far less addictive, because you aren't getting the same reward system

byobxp has been my community for ten years and im in all the group chats so i can talk to people but the forum while still active, and people leave and return, but all the people i was closest to are not on the actual site anymore and im missing that so much. the chats arent the same. ive been a lurker here for as long as ive been a byob poster. im trying to migrate but the culture is so different and im feeling a hole from losing my forums
#68
thats the saddest thing ive ever written. have pity on me
#69

sorry buddy I'm a lurker by nature, posting really goes against the grain for me. I also have nothing to do at the moment so rest assured I am reading all of your blog posts though.

Social media is designed to cause anxiety while providing quick but irregular treatment for the anxiety that it is producing. Even little things like introducing pauses when the webpage loads before showing notifications is all designed to fuck with you.

It’s an addiction so we gotta treat it like any other addiction. Build support networks outside of it, understand how it works, why it works, and what the withdrawal/relapse signs are, then keep trying until it sticks.

somewhat related: I Add 3-25 Seconds of Latency to Every Page I Visit

a discussion of this article included an anecdote about a webadmin adding a 5 second delay to page loads instead of outright banning problematic users (who were otherwise registering replacement accounts and such). these users found the wait unbearable and promptly moved on to get their hit elsewhere. it worked like a sort of shadowbanning

probably the funniest online brain damage story i have is when i was convinced i was telepahtically writing the absolute worst byob posters content without me even knowing about it (in my brain i think this was justified with some uhhh weird freudian idea about the unconscious but also like being able to access Online with my mind) and fucking uhhh just being insanely self-loathing about it when i saw his posts

its really sad that despite being completely dedicated to political discussion this forum still cannot match the level of debate seen on fyad reject forum.
