there was a conversation in this thread recently about how to talk to Westerners about Korea and this is a good resource for that imo

Best documentary I’ve ever watched. Please share this with everyone u can

#1088
btw the guy who made that is a member of the PSL LA branch. You can take that as a reflection on the party however you wish, the "premiere" at the office was pretty packed. It's a good documentary regardless, no ulterior motive necessary in promoting it to everyone.
#1089
the interviews themselves are really great. they should just throw every resource they have behind making a real fully produced documentary with a bunch more of that material because there is precious little like it. the material alone is worth more than the standard RT/telesurenglish format its emulating.

If it is proven that the CIA was behind the attack, it could lead to a diplomatic spat between Madrid and Washington. Government sources say that it would be “unacceptable” for an ally to take such action. Not only would it mean that the US agency had operated on Spanish soil without asking for authorization or informing the authorities, it would also be a violation of the international conventions that protect diplomatic delegations.

What’s more, unlike other intelligence activities – such as cyberattacks, which are characterized by their discretion, the attack on the North Korean embassy was especially violent. On February 22 at 3pm, 10 masked men carrying alleged imitation weapons broke into the embassy, located north of the capital in the residential area of Aravaca. They tied up the eight people inside and put bags on their heads. The victims were beaten and interrogated. A woman managed to escape from a window on the second floor and her screams for help were heard by a neighbor, who contacted the police.

Officers arrived at the scene but when they tried to enter the embassy a man opened the door to them and told them that there was nothing going on. Minutes later, two luxury vehicles sped out of the embassy. The cars used for the getaway belonged to the diplomatic mission and were later abandoned in a nearby street.

Just posting to point out the drum fill and then epic chorus at 2:50 in that video of "On Our March" owns extremely hard. I like it
#1105
Another good song is "Don't Ask My Name." While the video might seem creepy and stalker-ish with the man following a woman around, you will be mistaken as it is in fact about a reporter trying to track down an especially productive worker to do a story on her many achievements, but she rebuffs the reporter because she is too humble to take credit. There is a similar theme with the Chinese example of Lei Feng, who did dutiful work on the front line in Korea resisting American imperialism while not asking for any brownie points. Let us all follow their example in our own work.

BREAKING: according to a ROK newspaper, DPRK has executed everyone in the country, and in a suspect move, the trillions of dead people are also still alive, which experts suggest may be a plot to have them confirmed as alive later.
#1107
I can now confirm that reports regarding the Democratic People's Republic of Korea executing its nuclear weapons envoy by firing squad are in fact inaccurate. On the contrary, the DPRK's firing squad executed America with nuclear weapons and the envoy was a mere distraction, hence why I am now dead. My ghost deeply regrets the error

This latest "KJU executed someone" story is getting way more exposure than the usual, really hoping this dude shows up somewhere soon and exposes the the media as shit one more time. Based on the sourcing, the guy showing up alive seems pretty likely

IMO the heavier Western news coverage this time around is because ROK propagandists are finally managing to hone their stories to exploit the intra-bourgeois rivalry between a lot of big U.S. news outlets and Trump's administration.

So, this time, it isn't just "the bad man killed his people" rhetoric, to which U.S. readers' senses are effectively dulled, but "The bad man killed his people because Donald Trump was both too nice to the bad man and also didn't do a good job of being nice to the bad man."

That angle gets the story a shit-ton of boost from CNN, the Washington Post and the New York Times.

while doing more reading on the DPRK i stumbled upon this article featured on the EspressoStalinist (who normally has pretty good content but this article appears to be from the anti-DPRK site NK News.

it's basically about a neo-nazi group that somehow came to idolize the Kim family/DPRK and after sending a bunch of letters and stuff to North Korea they became recognized as an official support group from the NK government. the leader John Paul Cupp was invited to visit the country (you can see pictures in the article) and apparently North Korea published articles from these members praising Juche and the Kims. this went on for years until:

if this is true (the pictures show the visit at least) i just don't understand why the North Korean government would want to promote a group like this. were they not paying enough attention or does the DPRK hold some racist views i'm not aware of?

Last month, the reporter for that story did a followup on what happened to these people here and here.

Reading the original article from several years ago, I'm inclined to believe the North Korean government really didn't know much about this group and cut off contact when they started posting neo-Nazi stuff. The same group(s) also worshipped Jim Jones of the Peoples Temple and, looking for records, had contacted researchers at San Diego State University who keep archives of that material, but the researchers there didn't think there was anything very unusual about it, either. The group seemed pretty savvy at covering their tracks and using different front groups to build relationships.

A decade ago the group also tried to infiltrate a black Pentecostal church (to steer them toward "Jim Jones Thought") and a Hare Krishna temple in South Carolina, where they live, although these efforts were failures. Their ideology (and this is where it gets really bizarre) is more of a "left hand path" occultic religion that aims to infiltrate religious congregations and radical groups on left and right, subvert them and take them over, and then push the members into carrying out acts of violence. This, they seem to believe, will spark the apocalypse and allow a new superbeing to emerge from the wreckage to go on and conquer the stars. Not kidding.

This largely just exists on the internet, but the same group is now publishing esoteric / occultic books and has had much more success pushing that stuff into the extreme neo-Nazi scene. Point being that they look around for opportunities to exploit, and it just so happened that the neo-Nazi groups were more susceptible (go figure, right?). I've followed this a bit for awhile and it definitely gives me the heebie jeebies. Last I saw, they created another website and a disturbing "manifesto" which seemed to be trying to poach anti-civ anarchists, with the enemy described as tech companies and celebrities (like popular streamers), and characterizing violence against them as acts of artistic expression. My guess is they were inspired by a spate of shootings in 2018 including one at a video game streaming convention in Jacksonville, Florida and another at the YouTube headquarters in California, and started looking for opportunities in this area. This group wants to sit back and push other people into doing stuff like that, because they get off on it.

Anyways, I figured I'd just lay all that out. It's pretty sick. But I don't think this really has anything to do with the North Korean government, which may have had one dimly-aware guy for all I know tasked with wrangling these overseas supporters clubs and sending them picture magazines in the mail. It's my impression there are people in the U.S., Europe, etc. who are really mentally ill and come to identify with pariah states like the DPRK because they read horror stories about executions with anti-aircraft cannons and so on in the newspapers but believe it and like it. It feels to me like something that would emerge from gore / cult / Rotten Dot Com internet culture. Though a lot of that seems like it just jumped over to the right-wing chans these days.

Oh, and this whole thing is a gigantic rigmarole, by the way. There were actually two groups that built an alliance with each other (the Songun study club and the occultists), and the guy who traveled to North Korea was the leader of the Songun study club, but he claimed the occultists poisoned him in an attempt to take over the group. He was seriously mentally ill, though. And the guy who replaced him within the study group was also the self-proclaimed leader of the "Manchukuo Temporary Government" in exile, even appearing on RT:

Let's see if they make a correction, because Kim Yong Chol appeared on Sunday sitting five seats down from the Supreme Leader during a performance by military wives. He's the one wiping tears from his eyes.

Pyongyang, June 3 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un, chairman of the Workers' Party of Korea, chairman of the State Affairs Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and supreme commander of the armed forces of the DPRK, Sunday watched a performance given by amateur art groups of the wives of officers of units of the Korean People's Army (KPA) selected in the seventh round of the second-term contest of art groups of KPA officers' wives.

The Supreme Leader of the Party, the State and the armed forces appeared in the auditorium together with his wife Ri Sol Ju.

Among the audience were Choe Ryong Hae, member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK, first vice-chairman of the SAC of the DPRK and president of the Presidium of the Supreme People's Assembly, leading officials of the WPK Central Committee including Ri Man Gon, Pak Kwang Ho, Ri Su Yong, Kim Phyong Hae, Choe Hwi, An Jong Su, Pak Thae Dok, Pak Thae Song, Kim Yong Chol, Kim Su Gil and Kim Ki Nam, commanding officers of the KPA and creators and artistes of major art troupes.

The performance was given by members of the amateur art groups of wives of the officers of the Fourth Corps and the Air and Anti-Aircraft Force of the KPA.

the o9a claims to some large scale subversive conspiracy involved in accelerating the whole political spectrum to transgressive ends has always just been a self-congratulating aesthetic pose. it was specifically conceived of within combat 18 & the british national socialist movement as a gateway vehicle for spreading esoteric hitlerist ideas in occult circles, the idea that it's really motivated by some hidden sinister tradition of theistic satanism has been a pretty transparent & conscious effort to cloak the work of a few terminally obscure neonazis with a sense of grandiosity & world-spanning significance.

funnily enough, re: nazi adulation of the dprk, matthew heimbach of the traditionalist workers party has directly cited b.r. myers' juvenile orientalist anti-dprk propaganda the cleanest race as the source of his understanding of some imagined closeness to national socialism & japanese fascism in juche ideology

Thanks for this response. This is actually the main question I had about the whole thing: like is this a group of Nazis trying to spread their stuff within the occultic scene, or a group of occultists trying to spread their stuff in the Nazi scene which happened to be open for "contamination?" My posts suggested the latter, and the immediate flaw with my analysis, as you will probably know -- this was also the position from some of these neo-Nazi bloggers when a recent scandal about this emerged. But everything they say is a self-serving lie, and as I recall now they only started distancing themselves when the group involved turned out to be, predictably, an insane liability. Like "oh this had nothing to do with us." But it had everything to do with them.

this is pretty common. there are a lot of fascists who buy anticommunist propaganda hook line and sinker and incorporate it into their fever dreams about the world. the christchurch shooter saying the country he most admires and identifies with being the prc is the most recent example.

naturally this becomes fodder for said anticommunists to peddle this equivalency right back to their audience of world-class dunces via red-brown conspiracy theories.

Yeah... in general, anything that talks up the importance of "paganism" to Germans during the war, or even within NSDAP outside of a few tourists, is either trying for clicks/book buys or is by a crazy person. ONA's command of history is demonstrated by how they share the standard "neo-Pagan" group origin story, where they were thought up by someone from the United Kingdom in the 20th century who claimed to have inherited the secrets of one of those ancient oral pre-Christian tradition of witchcraft that were always getting "revealed" by attention-hungry weirdos from the UK back then. As far as those beliefs go, the offshoots today are probably a lot like the original groups, in that they half-believe all that stuff and half-believe it's just exciting-sounding and useful for impressing gullible young people, including themselves a lot of the time, which is more or less the same benefit of pretending that Rommel's boys kissed each other's buttholes for Baphomet at Tobruk or whatever. So you can probably assume any ideas they have about DPRK are just as reliable.
#1118
On the "executions" thing, I'm wondering if anyone has tried out the line that DPRK's government is leaking the stories themselves to ROK's propaganda papers just to make the Western press look like idiots when the "dead" person shows up in the stands at the Olympics, and if not, where I can pick up my check for this great face-saving idea.

The key to this plan is locating or (better) making up an obscure Korean phrase that means "switcheroo." Tell them it's Korean maskirovka.

the o9a guys themselves claim to be above mere neonazism and that its just a tool for spreading their ideas, but basically all their ideas are like spengler and and evola type stuff. also its sort of difficult to talk about it having much coherency when theres no central hierarchy or anything like that, as far as i can tell anyone can start a o9a current and start pumping out manifestoes and claim to be on the same shit as the original guys, even if they're not. theres a bunch of guys with this kind of ideology or variants of it in the black metal scene and some of them had ties to groups like the black order of pan europa and similar clown cars.
