That's a good point. Then I probably should. kkkanada has an abysmal marine industry, and China is one of the only countries that actually offers a masters program in my field. But sometimes I worry that it's all too good to be true. Maybe I'll go visit and see what's up.

trip report: the concert was incredible but so was the sellout part. they sang a very famous song about people dying in gallipoli and on the screen was a photo of erdoğan praying for the fallen. aaaaaaaaaand at the end they introduced the municipal candidate of AKP for the district where the venue was but the guy is currently the mayor of another district and has no relevance with the organization of the concert. it was shameless as hell lol

on the way back i took a cab and we started to chat and i was talking about the concert and he asked why it was free, then i mentioned the candidate stuff and said maybe that s why they made it free and i almost started to go on a rant against this shameless shit. then the cabbie started to talk about how good of a mayor and made the district look like a palace and i said hell yeah man he s the best and we talked about how good he is for at least 5 minutes lol

Thug Lessons was a step we all took and left behind in our journey to being mature communists, the idea that politics is a pathology or that Marxism is merely a step in technological mode of Being or slave morality or wherever semi-fascist critique is a necessary youthful critique that one overcomes to understand Marxism as science. You would be disappointed to encounter him after the work has been done, like a revival of Hegel after Marx's critique (exactly what Zizek claims to do in order to avoid dialectical materialism).
