oh here is also a quick rundown of what i decided to grab so far: legacy of kain soul reaver (psx) and croc (psx) for nostalgia reasons, and as far as 'real' psp games go i got tetris and both wipeouts for quick pick-up-and-play-for-a-few-minutes options, some sega legacy collection in case i feel like retro shit without emulator fuckery, and the one i'm actually most keen to try - me & my katamari. i hear a katamari remake/reboot is coming for switch which sounds perfect but i figured this would be a good place to start to see what it's like because it always looked cool to me from videos. also i am a child.

asking for game recs online is always a bit hard when you're some combination of casual gamer and dumb nerd who doesnt like effort, like myself. so thanks everyone trying to help.

This weekend I decided to try "Warframe" the free to play space ninja/shooter and its surprisingly good on its own for a free game but then they also just added a remarkable side plot about peoples' revolution in space amerikkka which was really cool.

Should have been playing EU4

as regular readers will know i have lately been playing the billion dollar blockbuster video game Settlers Simulator 1899 (whose politics are essentially liberal and, well, heck - they made an effort, so for light entertainment i reckon it deserves a pass). but it's now a little over a month until i head to china for my study tour, and so i devised a brilliant plan.

i offered to lend my copy of RDR2 to a cash strapped ps4-having friend who's been hanging out to play it, and i told him he could keep it until after i get back from my trip around the end of january, by which time the second hand market should be sufficiently flooded with copies that he can pick one up cheap if he wants to keep playing.

in the meantime -and this is where the brilliance comes into it - i stumbled on the perfect opportunity to continue gaming, albeit a little less compulsively, and at the same time actually learn some chinese history: a cheap second hand copy of Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIII!

oh god what have i done

romance of the three kingdoms is good, but dynasty warriors is honesty the best dumbest game i've ever played
#466
I like the Japanese history version of Dynasty Warriors where Oda Nobunaga is there, a guy who is like contemporary with Queen Elizabeth I but in the game's version of the 16th century, instead of muskets and artillery, Nobunaga unites Honshu by literally gliding through the air and shooting telekinetic shock waves out of his sword at everyone.

dynasty warriors but 1917. replace musou with dialectic
#469
swingin a giant spear in circles as I assault the winter palace, tsarist troops just flyin in every direction

*angry masses surge in to destroy gilt-walled room outrageously stuffed with EXP pouches & strategy scrolls* No comrades wait...! Don’t you see... this is all ours now!

K-Swiss Inc. is introducing a line of sneakers designed for video-game competitions, another attempt by athletic brands to capitalize on the burgeoning esports market.
Why would a gamer, seated in front of a monitor, need high-performance footwear? Well, the Grandmaster will include the ability to quickly kick the shoes off hands-free. That should help provide comfort during long matches.

this makes complete sense. makes me wonder why no one did this earlier

is that a meat draw?
