Its not uncommon for ppl in the marcyist orgs in the US to take that line apparently because its seen as be promoting black separatism contrary to their organizing goals. Other times its expressed as being because sakai is supposed to be pro-hitler, which is stupid, so i tend to think that people who say that mostly believe the former and use the latter as a smokescreen.

atch gotcha. sounds about par for the marxoteen course, to have read a whole lot of marx and a whole lot about class and capital, but to not really have considered imperialism and (neo)colonialism in a meaningful way or to have thought about how race/nationality creates a cascade of classes beyond a reductionist worker/owner dichotomy. something they might glean from a charitable read of settlers
