Red Star OS (Chosŏn'gŭl: 붉은별; MR: Pulgŭnbyŏl) is a North Korean GNU/Linux operating system. Development started in 2001 at the Korea Computer Center (KCC). Prior to its release, computers in North Korea typically used Microsoft Windows.

it has even proletarian brain-teasing puzzle games to aid in your conscious development:

i wonder if the kcc is nice enough to follow gpl license and contribute code back to the open source community but they dont own the bourgeoise imperialist anything so w/e

it would be chill if some of those cranky free software guys started to talk favourably about north korea because of their linux or whatever

if nk started contributing to gnu userbase code id see that actually happening with the the most ardent FLOSS folks like stallman. i gotta get kim on the line on this hot tip on how to get more greasy men supporting dprk anti-imperialism in imperialist metropoles

there is no way to communicate or work with computers or similar devices that is not totally compromised by the state. the entire edifice of cryptography and cybersecurity is pure ideology. read books and talk to people.

have you heard about.. openbsd?

also i seriously think it should be called gnu/linux or gnu plus linux considering how its the gnu userland thats turning that piece of shit monolithic kernel into something usable. the whole developer base behind linux kernel exists only due to a stroke of luck with bsd lawsuits at the moment scaring people to run with any shit kernel they can get their hands on. i wish more developers were interested in hurd for its superior microkernel approach. afaik gnu/hurd development is still lagging behind in terms of allowing the performance and stability of its modular design, but id still use it if i had the supported hardware. FSF is doing the good work by keeping a thight rein on FOSS development by holding every piece of code hostage with their ingenious licenses, considering most of FOSS developers are on the payroll of huge IT-corporations like IBM, HP, Google, Red Hat, Apple (see Darwin) and even Microsoft.

postscriptum: also lmao at bsd license allowing pos corporations like apple to pretty much fork everything from nextstep which forked everything from freebsd for their macOS and windows has been running blatantly with bsd-based tcp/ip stack since windows nt version whatever.

only video game worth playing is wizardry 1-2-3 (snes port), wizardry 5 (snes port too so dw bradleys cringeworthy objectifying design of female enemies ie. "amasonesses") and 6 (actually this also has a neat snes port with quick start parties when you dont want to be rolling for bonus points 24/7) and 7 (use dosbox, you doofus)

If this is the case, shouldn't they be totally rejected and resisted? That seems like a difficult proposition to me. If the tech can't be made communist, isn't everyone just fucked?

im playing dishonoured 2, a game in which a princess is turned into a witch and is dared to use her witch powers to go on a pig murdering spree to become the queen again, which seems like a concept designed to tempt me personally into sin; naturally as i am now all about willpower and self-discipline i have denied these powers and have become a pacifist ghost princess witch instead....video games

i think tech proably could be made communist if you lived in an actually existing socialist society, but it seems like its quite difficult to do it within the confines of capitalism, especially given how much corporate and goverment/military money goes into tech stuff in the first place.
