"Butt thought Hand had been protected since fleeing Australia in June 1980."
#125
"Butt's previous "big reveal" was in 2006"
#126
"60 Minutes, using information provided by Butt, filmed Hand emerging"
#127
"His chutzpah brought him to the attention of the CIA – out of bullets, Hand ended up in a hand-to-hand combat, during which he killed a killed a number of attackers with a Ka-Bar combat knife."

The RCMP might be charged with facilitating a terrorist act.

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/british-columbia/bc-terror-trial-rcmp-john-nuttall-amanda-korody-1.3325529

Over the course of the investigation, undercover officers posing as jihadi warriors gave Nuttall and Korody groceries, cigarettes, bus passes, cell phones, phone cards, clothing, cash and a portable hard drive.

They also provided the pair with a place to work on their terrorist scheme and a location to build the explosives, chauffeured them to various stores to purchase bomb-making equipment and transported them to and from Victoria and around the Lower Mainland over the course of the four-month sting operation.

"In my view, the defence have raised at least a prima facie case that the RCMP officers involved in Project Souvenir were engaged in unlawful acts during the undercover operation," wrote Bruce, referring to the operation by its code name.

"There is a sufficiently close link between the illegal acts committed by the RCMP and the prosecution of the accused to support an abuse of process claim."

They're so motivated to stop terrorism that they create their own terror plots to stop. What a pro-active attitude! I hope they get medals.

It's that time again, when I get to remind everyone about the time the RCMP bombed an oil site in full cooperation with Alberta Energy in order to create 'evidence' of terrorist activity.

hahahaha i fucking love the new york times

But if Mr. Gelli was a scoundrel to many Italians, to others he held out the promise of stability in turbulent times, when the Communist Party was advancing at the polls and the economy was declining.

Fascist person committed heinous crimes all their life, known for plotting the overthrow of italian govt, but perhaps there are reasons to... love them??

This owns. I honestly didn't know there were this many examples of intelligence agencies taking down their own governments.

this is the most compelling 9/11-related theory thing i've heard so far:

http://28pages.org/2015/09/11/former-fbi-agent-mark-rossini-driven-to-expose-cias-911-secret/
http://www.salon.com/2011/10/14/insiders_voice_doubts_cia_911/

basically the claim is that the CIA knew the terrorists were in the US but didn't make a move or inform the FBI because they were running a recruitment op to flip a couple of them to get more intel on al qaeda. whoops.
#146
that basically makes the most sense imo, especially because trying to generate informants and getting them to provoke disturbed people into committing horrific crimes is a story i feel like ive heard a dozen times

This makes some sense of the bizarre linkages between the Hamburg cell and David Edger, who was station chief in Berlin, and later moved to Norman, OK for a post at U of Oklahoma - Norman, OK was where some of the hijackers went to flight school upon first coming to the US.

And also, potentially, the link between Moussaui, who was the most obvious asset of the group, and Nick Berg, who used his email address and computer log-in in 1999. Berg was probably a spook too, and was in Iraq under the cover of a civilian contractor.

I think this is also likely the story behind the Boston marathon bombing. It was a standard FBI terror-entrapment scheme that somehow got away from its handlers. That's why Todashev ended up dead too.

Yeah, someone I like on twitter posted her thing on Simon Wiesenthal, but she starts off with some comments about Mengele working with the CIA to make AIDS or w/e and I'm like uhhh should I just ignore that and listen for the interesting stuff or shut it off.

did u know? the CIA press would have you believe that the person who discovered nuclear radiation was somehow "already" looking for things that radiate. i'm much to clever to believe that, the CIA put the radiation in the rocks beforehand, using their knowledge of radiation
