"I looked the man in the eye. I found him to be very straight forward and trustworthy and we had a very good dialogue.

"I was able to get a sense of his soul.

"He's a man deeply committed to his country and the best interests of his country and I appreciate very much the frank dialogue and that's the beginning of a very constructive relationship."

it's great how everyone is talking about the 'illegitimacy' of the crimean referendum based solely on some gut feeling that russia = bad

even when you get them to admit that most of the people living in crimea legitimately do want to be part of russia, the election was still 'obviously fixed' and was just a way to trick people into agreeing to something they already wanted

it just mirrors the annexation of kosovo and in the end serbia and ukraine by the west. there's nothing "illegitimate" about it.

Putin's one of the richest men in the world, he could just sit around snorting caviar off Alina Kabaeva's dick. But Putin's a gangsta, and he wants his corners.

was there a poll done in the past decade that demonstrates that that's what the people want?

#147
there was a referendum in the 90s after the dissolution of the soviet union that had a similar result but everyone also ignored it then, lol

Its important because its full of thousands of good, loving people whose lives are increasingly being threatened by CIA-backed Fascist anarchists and Putin is a good man who Chooses Life

I'm sure Russia's aid to Ukraine had its share of strings attached but i kind of doubt they were worse than the full-blown liberalization of the economy we're about to see under US/EU/IMF influence.

well, first of all, we can run that dumb fucking Orientalist train of "Putin the one-man tyrant dictatorship" off its war mongering rails? As the good ole Cold Warrior Stephen Cohen notes, it doesn't matter who is in charge of Russia, they would be *forced* to act the same way. Maybe a good way to build and strengthen a movement is to start cutting through to the core of imperial misinformation, distortion, and equivocation? Russian 'imperialism' is nowhere on the level of NATO imperialism, not even close, and this left-feint bullshit about "two rival blocs waving their dicks" (?) muddies the waters, so how about either try to fight against war-mongering propaganda or keep your opportunist cynicism to yourself. How bout that. lol.

the west supporting outright fascist coups and IMF weaponized financial policy is not 'deploratory grumblings', it's aggressive provocation. do you think its policy abroad is not a direct mirror to its policy at home? or are you so far down your own hopeless hole of despair and self-parody that you cannot imagine ever challenging any of these injustices? Fuckin beagle
