lol they picked one of the cops to "turn himself in" and take a charge that'll likely get dropped in court, and he's already out on bond

Ferrell apparently walked to the nearest house, about a half-mile from the accident, and was “banging on the door viciously,” Monroe said. The woman who lives there thought the man at her door was her husband coming home late from work.

But when she saw Ferrell instead, she shut the door and called police because she thought he was trying to rob her.

Officers received a call shortly after 2:30 a.m. about an attempted break-in at a residence in the 7500 block of Reedy Creek Road.

The three officers from the Hickory Grove division who responded to the scene came across a man matching the description of the possible suspect, and they surrounded him. The man “immediately charged” at the police, Monroe said.

Officer Thornell Little unsuccessfully fired his Taser at Ferrell, who continued to run toward them, police said in a statement. Kerrick then fired several rounds at Ferrell, who was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Monroe said Ferrell was unarmed. The chief did not think he was trying to rob the woman, saying, “I don’t believe threats were made.”

Authorities said late Saturday that the initial encounter between Ferrell and Kerrick was “appropriate and lawful.” The evidence showed that Ferrell advanced on Kerrick, but the subsequent shooting of Ferrell was “excessive” and violated the law regarding voluntary manslaughter, according to police.

Kerrick turned himself in to the Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office on Saturday evening.

Officials could not immediately recall the last time there was a fatal officer-involved shooting of an unarmed person.

Responding to a reporter’s question about the vehicle accident, Monroe said late Saturday that there was no evidence of alcohol but noted that a toxicology report could take several weeks. “It doesn’t change the circumstances or the facts.”

don't pretend that it's a competition to see which group is the worst and the other gets a free pass for its troubles.

im not, i think value statements with appeals to subjective morality are completely worthless but worse than that, counterproductive. i agree with your overall sentiments tho. if i was trying to make a point (i really wasnt) it wouldn't be about a competition of which would be "better" rather that there's more opposition to imperialism than the prison industrial complex in american ideology, with a perception of police more like what they see on 'the wire', despite both the MIC and PIC being pretty damn similar in terms of the brutal violence they inflict upon humanity

tpaine you have to admit that ppeople at enlistment age, 18, or 19, are barely even human yet mentally, so holding soldiers accountable just for enlisting is over the top, since, like cops, they are not humans but awful pig/chimp hybrids, who have been taught to hunt black people and whine about paperwork, and like other animals are not ensouled and are thus incapable of "good" or "bad" actions.

"fuck the police" is a million more times acceptable than "fuck the troops" what are you talking about. If ppl look at cops the way David Simmons The Wire presents them they do it doubly so for troops, what else do you call "support the troops, not the war". mainstream American manifestations of "anti-imperialism" empasize the sentiment Bring Are Boys Home as a top priority, sometimes you're lucky if they append the deaths of foreign civilians at all as some sort of incidental footnote, impersonally ravaged by the mere abstract notion of War. dorner targeted a cop's daughter and her fiance and became a folk hero for a notable segment of the population, the fort Hood guy targeted only uniforms and is reviled. even "progressives" think that as far as personal responsibility for imperialism goes the buck stops at the President.

is there even any mainstream advocates of dismantling the prison systems, the police force, and legal institutions? the position to dismantle the mic is pretty commonly held by libertarians. if anything it's 'take r troops home to station them at home because Blacks/Immigrants" in the sense foreign occupation should cease to begin colonizing african americans more heavily, i.e. strengthening the PIC at the expense of the MIC

i don't care about the existence of neologisms, where it's the reverse for the PIC "fuck the police, but keep the system" and backhanded justifications for keeping those structures intact by placing blame on individual actors. people are more critical of the MIC as an institution, while more critical of individual cops due to american's close proximity with police violence. i think ultimately tho, the rationalizations and justifications for the existence of both are firmly rooted in racism, neither the MIC or PIC are better than each other and they serve the same functions, one foreign one domestic

Police accuse Fort Bragg soldier and his wife of making pornography with dogs

RAEFORD - A Raeford couple face charges of engaging in sex acts with dogs, filming them and posting the videos on the Internet, police said.

Ruben Chance James Fox and his wife, Amber Nicole Fox, both 23, of the 900 block of East Prospect Avenue, were arrested Monday morning, according to the Raeford Police Department.

They are charged with multiple counts of crimes against nature involving bestiality, disseminating obscene materials and conspiracy, police said.

Amber Fox also is charged with soliciting a crime against nature, police said.

The cybercrimes unit of the Fairfax County Police Department in Virginia contacted Raeford authorities about two weeks ago after videos appeared online showing sex acts with dogs, said Raeford police Maj. Marc Godwin.

Police said the videos were made at the couple's home and shared through a website.

Raeford officers searched the home Friday and seized recording devices and computer hard drives, police said. Officers took two mixed breed dogs and three cats from the home and placed them at a local shelter.

Ruben Fox is a Fort Bragg soldier, Godwin said. He is a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, said Ben Abel, a spokesman for Fort Bragg.

Bail was set at $15,000 each
